This could be your body flushing toxins out ESPECIALLY if you are taking alot of probiotics, and especially if you feel better after the diarrhea. I've experienced this alot myself while taking quality probiotics.  Maybe slow down on the probiotics and make sure to keep electrolytes up and stay hydrated.

My colon is irritated by everything except meat and fat. I try to avoid all plant foods as much as I can.

I have been taking iron supplements for over 6 months and I regret it alot.  If I could go back and not take them, and just treat the anemia with diet, I would. Those iron pills encourage the growth of pathogenic bacteria who feed iron.  Quitting the iron supplements has been very hard on me.
Eat some liver. It is not as horrible as you think. Cook it extremely rare, and eat it with onions. It's not my favorite food but if not overcooked it tastes fine to me. Chicken liver is great especially, it has a higher iron content than beef liver and less vitamin A than beef liver so you can eat a little of it every day. Liver is better than any pill for anemia. The pills do not have all the b vitamins and vitamin A, which has been linked to iron much in the same way that vitamin D is linked to calcium. Anemia is not just about iron, it's a vitamin deficiency as much as a mineral deficiency.
If you absolutely can't do liver atleast do red meat. I found that one of my favorite anemia foods is very rare beef with a salad.
Avoid too many dairy products, coffee, tea, nuts, too many dark greens. These foods all have things that block iron absorption. Meat is your best friend.

I laughed so hard at the first one, that's what my grandma sounded like when she found out I had celiac.  The bottom one sounds like me sometimes too.

      3 Months Gluten-Free, Feel Like I'm Dying
I'm nearly 3 months out from my gluten free diet.  Things have been really rough for me. I'm starting to discover that fruit and starch and other high carb foods are not really good for me, especially if I eat too many of them.  I'm still very skinny.
I also discovered that I develop new allergies to foods if I eat them too much.  An IgE test proved it, I developed allergies to 3 vegetables I had been eating recently up until the appointment.
Today I just feel so anxious and sick.  I just can't wait for this day to end.  I know there's alot more people here that have it worse than I do too, but sometimes I just feel like I'm dying.
Edit: Anyone have to take iron supplements on top of this diet?  Wow, they hurt so much. >.>

      Dextrose In Salt?
      Hey everyone,

I just noticed on my Publix Iodized salt one of the ingredients is dextrose. Does anyone know if this is related to gluten? If not where does it come from?

I got the regular Digest kind. I think they are helping, but I think I am specifically having a problem digesting fat now. I'm going to try to get one specifically for fat digestion next time, because I take alot of these with a fatty meal. Also I was fortunate to find all kinds of Enzymedica enzymes at my Whole Foods.

I'd suggest cutting out all dairy and see if that helps. I'm convinced based on past reactions that dairy is one of my high risk foods that needs to be avoided at all costs.

Wow I think I can handle more than that even...
I am going to mention it to my doctor next time I see him and I will try the enzymes too.

Fat Malabsorption - What To Do
Hey everyone. I'm celiac and I've been on a gluten-free diet since the middle of December. I think I am having issues with fat absorption. Whenever I eat a high fat meal, about 2 hours later I get nausea that lasts for hours. I have also had some D occasionally from it.

I just wonder what is the best thing for me to do at this point? I don't want to avoid all fat since I think I need to absorb some fat (good fat vs bad fat). However I think that eating high fat meals are irritating my intestines, which I don't want to happen. Should I try to avoid as much fat as possible since it doesn't get absorbed well, or should I try to eat some even if it might give me D or intestinal irritation?

I'm avoiding all of those for the time being, the only additives could be in the bacon I was eating. And yeah my supplements are all allergen free.

It's over with now. I just wish I knew what caused it. I'm going to try taking less iron.

      Terrible Abdominal Pain After Gluten-Free
I'm in terrible pain right now. It feels like something is shredding my insides. I have never felt pain this bad when I was on gluten (I have biopsy-confirmed celiac). I've been gluten free and dairy free since 12/12/12. I also take 3 iron pills a day for anemia. Could the supplements be causing this? I've also been taking them for many months and haven't had this kind of pain before.

So it seems like most food in general cannot be guaranteed against cc, unless you go kill it/grow it yourself!

Do you wash them off when you take them out of the plastic? Would you eat hamburger too? It kind of discouraged me from eating hamburger since you can't rinse it all off but I don't want to give it up, or go to alot of trouble finding another store to buy hamburger...
This is kind the similar response you get when you email full-service restaurants about gluten-free food. They say they have gluten-free menus but cannot guarantee against cross contamination.
