Total Iga Very Elevated - Indicator Of Celiac?
Hi, I have an adult son with Down syndrome. There is more incidence of Celiac Disease with Down syndrome. I am just starting to have my son tested. His IgA total, was 565 where the range was listed as (69 - 309). It is very hard to search the cause of a high IgA. Any insight and what further testing should be done is welcomed. We do not see his PCP for a few weeks so I'm just really concerned.

We had some GI testing done this summer. Has GERD, but really nothing was "flagged" as a top area of concern. He was still on antibodics for infection found from aspiration pneumonia. He coughs sometimes when he eats and that had just started.Had an endoscope but not tested for celiac disease.

      Thanks for any insight.
