Glad that you are feeling better now on a gluten free diet! The first symptom that went away was my chest pain when I went gluten free. It went away after 2 days of being gluten free and hasn't been back.
Yes, I think they can make you feel bloated in my opinon. If I eat too many potatoes, I almost feel glutened. I know they don't contain gluten of course, but that's how they make me feel. I became sensitive to potatoes and corn a few weeks after going gluten free. I've cut corn and potatoes out of my diet completely now and feel even better.
Thanks! I did check google and other search engines and found conflicting info. I like to ask celiac questions here since there are more tried and true answers here. I've looked on the back of frozen yogurts over the past few weeks but it's confusing, especally when something says "natural flavor" as I've heard gluten could be a hidden factor in that. Not always, but sometimes. So I'd like to know if anyone here knows for sure about which store bought brands of frozen yogurt are gluten free. I of course already know to avoid ones that have cake and cookie pieces, etc.
Great positive thread! I enjoyed reading everyone's responses. I have had so many changes happen to my body since going gluten free about 6 weeks ago, too many neurological changes to name here currently, but for now the most surprising non neurological, and not even a biggie, is that I keep getting compliments on my skin. People say my cheeks look rosy, lol, and that my complexion has greatly improved. My skin feels softer and I notice my hair is softer as well and it looks brighter. I have more energy and I smile more. My GI doc said, "You have made my day just by how good you look and feel compared to last time I saw you." The last time she spoke of when I looked so bad was pre-endoscopy and pre gluten free. She made my day by saying that!
Hi all, I searched through the threads here but couldn't find a topic on this already. There was one about TCBY store but I'm wanting to know about store bought brands. Can anyone tell me which brands of frozen yogurt (at the store) are gluten free? Thanks!
Maybe you don't have to give up your dream, perhaps wear masks and food gloves in your bakery? I bake A LOT for my kids but I don't eat it myself of course. I've also been having a lot of fun experimenting with coconut flour. I wish you the best of luck!
Hi, I had all of your symtoms and after going gluten free, most were significantly lessened as to barely exist at all. I still experience occasional arthritic, nerve, and muscle pain, but I'm working on cutting all grains out completely to see if that helps. I also still get mildly dizzy but I've only been gluten free for about 3 weeks now so I'm hoping that with time, all my symptoms will subsisde. Good luck with your elimination diet!
In my opinion, I think it's best to use coconut oil and olive oil. I have neuropathy as well and just started taking vit D; hope that helps. B12 and Magnesium helps I know, and I take them, but I read that vit D can work very well with these too. Like you, I also take vit E but I take it for my skin and heart. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
So sorry you are unable to find gluten free nuts. The raw diet is wonderful. I thrived on it. Be sure to check out raw protein shakes and bars if you're concerned about protein; they are gluten free in health stores or online if truly raw. The first time I did the raw foods, I never felt better in my life. I had so much energy and was in such a good mood. Raw broccoli has a perfect amount of protein and it stays with you longer; hopefully your wife likes it! I was used to a high protein diet before I started raw and I didn't suffer at all and got plenty of calories and excellent nutrition but I ate a wide variety of raw fruits and veggies, and gluten free raw nuts. If I could ever stick to the raw diet I would but I love meat too much. However, I do it every year at least twice for a perod of two weeks each to give my energy and health a boost.
