  1. I'm very interested in this... My doctor also had me avoid the test, saying their wasn't a genetic history for Celiac for me. Apparently having more proof before hand justifies the expense more to him, but he suggested I try the gluten free diet. Almost a year later, and it's working great for me. However, my symptoms just kicked in from something I ate (I'm not overly careful when I go out to eat) and now I don't know what it is. So-my question for you with the testing experience... How long do you have to regularly consume gluten for, in order to take the tests efficiently? I read somewhere that six months, ingesting gluten every day (I believe they said a slice of bread/day), was the best way to get accurate results. Any other thoughts? Nausea/gas/migraines/muscle pain for six months doesn't sound appealing. I'm not even handling the first day of it well.
  2. I have been getting them from the Walmart in my town. It was amazing when I first found them last November. They are $5.80, i think, for 27 nuggets. Not bad, in my opinion. They recently put $0.55 off coupons on all of the bags, too. They are NOT near the regular Tyson products in Walmart. There is a frozen section at the store near me called "Health Entrees," which now has a whole frozen pantry of gluten free options, like Van's waffles and Amy's frozen meals, along with some others that I had never seen before. Also found a new frozen fettucini alfredo meal that is delicious (for frozen alfredo).
  3. Hey, I am new to the forums. It was suggested to me to try a gluten free diet in the summer or 2012, and I have been (trying) to maintain. I've, unfortunately, moved away from a large city and to a tiny town without a lot of options. This, with a new (and very supportive) boyfriend, I've accidentally ingested gluten around five times. I'm getting familiar with the pattern of symptoms, although timing hasn't been well-established. I was wondering if any other gluten intolerant (I've never been tested for Celiac) people have similar problems... Around 10-15? minutes after the first bite -I'm a slow eater, so I usually notice mid-meal- I get weird pains. My jaw starts to hurt and makes me feel like it has locked up, and I get mild chest pain near my armpit. I've also noticed the occasional pain in my back, under my ribs and not far from the shoulder blades. As time goes on, maybe a half hour later, I have horrible bloating and mild nausea. I also get a slight cotton-mouth feeling and the migraines and leg pain usually start later that night/day. Other, more usual, symptoms carry on for the next day or so, but those are my initial issues. Has anyone experienced these random pains at the onset? I have read a lot of information online about symptoms and reactions but I cannot find instances that I can relate to this. If anyone has more info, please let me know. Thanks!
