Thanks for the boost, Colleen.  I will keep trying.  I have a step and need to start using it.  I get up at 5:30 to go to work at 7:30 already but sometimes I wish I had more time.  I can't sleep in on weekends because I don't go if I miss my time.  I tried coffee and it bothers my acid reflux.  I have not acceptable "manageable" yet.  I am 44 and want desperately to be "normal" but it looks like I will need to settle for "manageable."
      Thank you

I have been gluten-free since 2010 and there has been no changes in my constipation.  I am on Dexilant, plaquenil, vitamin D and take calcium but was constipated way before taking calcium.  Insurance only covered 10 sessions this summer which was very time consuming for me.  She did diet training and exercises to strengthen my muscles but no biofeedback. I did the balloon exercises at home which only caused my hemorrhoids to bleed.  I am dairy free.  Only soy that I have is in my mayo.  I have muscle twitches in my legs sometimes and also have a difficult time emptying my bladder completely.  Not sure if that is neuro symptoms. Thanks for helping me problem solve.

      Intestinal Muscle Damage
I am struggling with my new me and wanted some help. I have positive DPG tests. I also have food intolerances to eggs, peanuts and dairy which I have probably had from day one of life. I am treated with plaquenil for fatigue, mild joint pain and dryness. I also have chronic constipation which I thought was related to celiac but there has been no change. I have discovered that I have poor rectal muscles and also failed the "balloon" test during physical therapy for constipation. I am on a high soluable diet and miralax. Nothing was explained to me but I gather that I have at least lost my muscle control of my lower bowels which is the cause of the constipation since I am unable to push anything out. Is this autoimmune related? Can it be caused by delivery of a child? I struggle with this daily and I am bummed that I need to take something to be "normal" for the rest of my life.

I have some sort of dysfunction where my lower colon muscles don't work. I take miralax and eat more soluable than insoluable fiber and this seems to help. I have done everything and now have just accepted it.

I ate them today!!! I eat them for breakfast with milk and when I was little they used to be one of my favorite snacks.  I would melt a tablespoon of butter in a pan and add honey nut cheerios.  Buttered honey nut cheerios!! Yum!!

Thanks for the recipe!!  I went to a health food store the other day and found soy free mayo but it was $7 for a tiny jar.  So my next step was looking up a recipe on line.  I think this one looks simple enough and I think I got all of the ingredients except white pepper!

I had blood work for food allergies several years ago and I took out the foods that were moderate reaction to both delayed and immediate reactions.   Almond, soy and several others were mild responses.  It may be worth taking them out.  I watch my soy carefully and the only things I eat that contain soy are my mayo and occasional bread/cracker products by Scharr.  I find it difficult to buy mayo that is gluten, dairy, egg and soy free.  Yes, I ate mayo this week.
I am long time sufferer of constipation.  I developed it about 2 years after my last child (11 years ago).  So I know it is not my gallbladder issues that is causing my constipation problems. Nothing seems to help except miralax and I pray that it keeps on working. That is why my gastro is sending me for therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction, although the results from the test were unequivocal. I am having a difficult time grasping that my muscles are causing the problems but would be pleased if it worked.

      Tummy Troubles
I have been gluten free for several years and have also taken other things out of my diet. No diagnosis but have improved with taking out eggs, dairy and peanuts along with gluten. Last year I had pancreatitis and the doctor took out my gallbladder although there was no definite cause. This week I have been feeling bad, my stomach is bloated, constipated - even with miralax and I am not sure what is going on. Which makes me stressed, which doesn't help. Gastro is new and doesn't ask much about possible celiac diagnosis but is sending me for physical therapy for my constipation. Nothing has been done with the exception of tracking bm and food/water daily intake. I am missing something. What symptoms does not having a gallbladder cause? Stomach pain/upset stomach? I know it can cause loose stools which I don't have. Tomorrow we have a family get together and I don't feel like eating anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      Allergy Free Supplements
I know there is a lot of discussion on safe supplements now but I am running out of vitamin D and also calcium and was considering changing brands
to help with my continuing problems. I have osteopenia and low vitamin d so I am not able to get the amount that I need through food only. Any
      suggestions? Thanks!

    10. Renaye added a post in a topic Anyone Have Parasite Infection? Attempted Cleanse?

I saw a naturopathic doctor a few years ago who diagnosed me with multiple food intolerances and also an unidentifiable parasite. He wanted me to do a cleanse which would make me sick. Insurance didn't pick up anything so I ended up not seeing him anymore. If he was able to identify the
parasite then I would have thought more about it. I also have other autoimmune problems and thought it just wasn't worth messing my system up.
Gastro doctors don't help much with this either. May regret it....

I am several years into a gluten free diet and still experience severe constipation. Although I do not have a definite diagnosis, I was thinking about trying this diet also. I have two questions. I am already dairy free but wonder if I can add dairy free products in instead of dairy. I also wonder about using certified gluten-free supplements. I use citracal for calcium and spring valley for vitamin D. Should I look for different supplements?

    12. Renaye added a post in a topic Eye Infections

I had many infections and trips to the dentist that indicated sjogren's but my blood work is negative but I am treated with plaquenil for fatigue and mild joint pain by my rheumatologist. I use systane eye drops and there is a night time gel by refresh that is really good. If your blood work is negative then they call it "sicca syndrome." Sjogren's can go hand in hand with celiac. My eyes got better after my stress level went down, plaquenil, eye drops and I quit wearing contacts and eye make-up. Hope
      this helps.

      Selling Gluten Free Muffins
I am a teacher and wanted to obtain some extra money in the summer and was thinking of selling gluten-free muffins in my surrounding area.  What do you think?  I have one great recipe and will need to play around with some basic banana and blueberry recipes.  I was going to only offer 3 kinds.  I am dairy, egg and peanut free so they will not include those ingredients which make it more difficult to find that great muffin.  Do you think this is a good idea?  What am I missing?  Suggestions on pricing? I know Udi's is somewhere around $6 for 4 muffins.

    15. Renaye added a post in a topic Celiac Or Not?

I have similar symptoms and have some positive blood work that suggest celiac.  I am gluten free now regardless of the testing due to having a positive ANA which suggests something autoimmune is going on but like you, I don't react to gluten.  I have terrible constipation that doesn't respond to anything except miralax and I continue to have to take more of it for it to work.  My thyroid blood work is negative but wish I could find a doctor to treat me like I have hypothyroidism just to see if it would help. I used to have a lot of pain in the mornings and found out I have several food intolerances.  I took those foods out and I have no more pain.  It may be something to look into.
