  1. I dont bother with creatine. Tried it but never got much in way of results. The ethyl ester gave me stomach problems so I would stick with monohydrate. Training when glutened. I would either wait until I was OK or just do a short light session. It doesnt matter if you train alternate days or consecutive days so long as you get enough recovery. If training consecutive days then work different muscle goups each day. I prefer a rest day, or 2 or 3, between sessions but sometimes will do legs one day and then upper body work the next day. I have plenty of things to keep me busy during rest days. Eat enough calories daily, rest days or training days, to enable you to gain gain weight. If you gain fat then cut down your calories. If you lose weight then up your daily intake. Eat a balanced diet with enough proteins and vegetables and fruit. I would be interested to see your good workout plan, especially as you are not using weights.

  4. I think I will probably try some Muscle Gauge Nutrition whey protein isolate . It is listed as gluten free and lactose free by the manufacturer. Looks OK in the advertisements but then they always do. http://www.musclegauge.com/proteins.htm Has anybody tried this brand ? Any feedback ?

  6. It took about 2 months of strict gluten free eating before I started to feel good. The bodyweight and strength started to return from then on.

  8. L-Glutamine is glutamine which is gluten free. It is the glutamine peptide, or peptide bonded glutamine, which should be avoided.
  9. Yes I think that any supplements with glutamine peptide, or peptide bonded glutamine, should be avoided. I also agree with the caution with weight gainers as most of these seem to contain gluten. I have had limited success in getting replies from manufacturers. The manufactuer with the protein supposedly containing glutamine peptide and claiming it to be gluen free has replied to state that their distributor had made an error in their advertising and that there was no glutamine peptide in the powder and it was gluten free. You say you are researching protein powders. What sort of research?? Do you mean your own investigations or do you mean scientific research??
  10. I dont have a problem with glutamine, just the peptide bonded glutamine. Whey protein is gluten free, but I have notice several manufacturers now include peptide bonded glutamine as an extra ingredient in their supplements which is apparently derived from hydrolysed wheat gluten. Most manufacturers with the added peptide bonded glutamine do now not claim the whey protein as gluten free but I have noticed at least one who does. I have emailed the manufacturers and await responses. But does anybody out there know if this peptide bonded glutamine does contain gluten or has it been treated such that the gluten content is removed ? This stuff is appearing in lots of protein supplements that would previously have been gluten free. Any thoughts??
  12. I have used creatine monohydrate without any problems. I take about an hour before food and if possible with some warm water as this helps it dissolve. I take one teaspoonful on non training days and 2 on training days. I tried creatine ethyl ester in powder form for a few weeks but it gave me stomach problems as if I had been glutened. I had a break for a few weeks then tried again and again had problems so I threw the tub away and now use the creatine monohydrate. It may have been that particular brand or maybe not a pure batch but it definitely did not agree with me.
  13. I never had problems with constipation, in fact usually the opposite. But it took about 10 weeks of strict gluten free diet for me to return to 'normal'.
  14. Go see your Doctor and discuss with them. If you have been diagnosed then you are entitled to the prescriptions. The prepayment certificate is definitely worth it. I regularly get bread, crackers, and pasta on prescription. You can also get flour and some biscuits. Your doctor should have a list of prescribable items.   15. Whey protein is dairy based. Whey protein does not contain gluten. However whey protein products often have other ingredients added so you do need to check with the manuacturer. I use Reflex Nutrtion instant whey protein which they have confirmed is gluten free. Whey protein does contain small amounts of lactose.
