  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. in my local sainsburys they now have a full freezer full of gluten free things.. There is, fish fingers, meat pies, chicken slices, chicken nuggets, sausages, yorkie puds, lasange, hotpots,as well as free from bread biccies, etc so it will not be hard for him as these are all the things that he loves... Speaking of an underlying illness i also have ulcerative colitis and was wondering if this could be with him, but the doc said highly unlikely but he has tested him anyway.. Next wednesday i have to phone for results, fingers crossed its good news... Thanks for your replies love Poppet x
  3. i couldnt read the writting but it looked like agi? and the word said celiac then some more things scribbled... I will try him on the gluten free diet from now... poppet
  4. Hi there just wondered if you could give me some advice please... I had 3 neg results but still suffered so i went gluten free and within 2 weeks felt alive again, gone was the excema, migraines, spots, acne, excess weight, diarhea, rummbling tummy, colicky pains... My son has been suffering with constipation since he was born needing daily enames, i stopped these about 3 years ago and asked him to tell me if he needed one , he is 8 now, they blames it on his cerebral palsy affecting his muscles in his bowls!! Just over the last year he seems to be unwell all the time, same symptons as i had, no more constipation, now when he has toast or noodles he vomits them back up, he has only gained 3lb in the last year which is also a concern as he uses up more energy than everyone else has he has to work harder to make his body work... Went to see a doc, gave him antibiotics, i went mad at my hubby as he took him i dont think biotics will do him anygood in fact they will give him more diarhea, so i didnt give him any i made another appiontment with our own doc, he agreed he could be and did a blood test today, how long will it take to come back and what should i need to hear, i hear about all different things but wanted to know about certain counts etc... I find the gluten free diet very easy to follow and easy to get the food i need and so i would for my son, i am not hoping he has this but it would be nice to know what is wrong with him if you know what i mean, can anyone gove me some advice on the tests numbers and facts as i am lost... Thanks in advance Poppet...

  6. I have always used vo5 shampoo and conditioner and always had a sore scabby head in fact i thought i had sirisis (sp) but my hubby noticed it said wheat protein in it??? i stopped using it and my head was totally clear withing one week... My question now is what other products contain wheat stuff? i would hate to think i am using stuff that could cause me problems... Does anyone have any lists that could help me out please, thanks in advance love poppet
  7. Hi there and thanks for your replies, i have yet to be diagnosed, my gp is on at the hospital for my results as the specialist refused to give them to me and i am on yearly appointments, he said i need to know for definate... I have ulcerative colitis that wasnt changing despite being on heaps of meds, i came of the med after a year as they were making me bleed and then got told to go on this diet... I have been on it since march, the specialist did a stool and blood tests in march but not got any results yet, i did see an improvement within 2 days with the toileting business and i had a couple of things with wheat/gluten in them and imediatly had terrible cramps like i had been puched in the tummy and then i needed the loo... I dont even know what i should be looking for to see any improvements, but i have always had exema and spots and greasy skin and hair but this has inproved greatly the only real thing i am concerned about is my weight since march i have lost 5 stone i seem to have evened out now and i am stuck at 9 stone, does this normally happen??.. I have so many question and no answers, so sorry if i appear a bit thick or trying at times... Poppet x x x
  8. Hi there i was wondering how long it takes for you to feel 100% better after you start the wheat free diet? i have been on it since March now 7 months and i am only just seing a proper improvement, can anyone help me on this i think i read somewhere it could take up to 2 years!! is this true? Hope you can advise, love Poppet x
  9. Hello i am poppet a mum to 3 great kids, i have ulcerative colitis and maybe wheat/gluten allergy, i have been having a few problems with things and thought i would drop in to see if you could help me please, this is a long one so be ready... I have been tested in march for wheat/gluten allergy the specialist who deals with my ulcerative colitis suggested i go wheat/gluten free while i see her next in november... Fine i said i did as she said and after 2 days i felt miles better, a bit more energy not crampy all the time, go to toilet 3-4 times a day instead of 25 times, i lost 3 and half stone since i have been on it, trouble is it is very expensive... One bread loaf cost £3.33, ok its a small price to pay for health and worth it but it is the not knowing... I am anemic so i have to take iron, i know when i am low on iron and start taking it again, so i start taking it last week what normally gives me constipation has given me the opposite.. I phone up the chemist and ask them if they are what free she didnt know gave the number to the manufactuer so i phoned them and they do contain wheat i phoned the chemist back to tell them as they could give some one with a servere reaction anaphalactic shock, again she didnt seem interested... I phoned my gp and told them they contain wheat, she suggested i phoned up the specialist and ask for my results to be faxed to the gp, the speacilsts secretary couldnt do this i have to wait while november, i mean come on these are my results why cant i have them??? I am so peeved of at the minute, the secretary didnt want to be bothered by me and seemed put out that i phoned up!!!! what a snob i hope she never gets ill, she said all i can say to you is if you have a sandwich you will be ill!!! is she confirming my allergy to wheat or is she safe guarding herself, this is so unreal you have to laugh about it... So after 7 calls yesterday i am a still none the bloody wiser, and if my gp repeats the test it will come back negative as i have been wheat free for 6 months now!!! Also does anyone know if cooking oil, has wheat in it, i used to be ok with chips but now i get all crampy if i eat them but if i mash them i am ok, is it the oil?.. So many questions with no one to help me, hope you can love poppet x
