Even in this forum some people have a hard time with gluten-free oats. Have you had your vitamin levels checked? Just curious I was suffering from, no energy, hair loss, mouth sores, Nails coming loose, and low and behold it was Folate , Folic Acid. It's a B vitamin. Just saying you might want to get your vitamin levels checked.
Well I think the law is 20PPM for labeling gluten-free, sometimes that is to much for certain people. Alot of people can eat gluten-free oats for example. Others cannot. I do not eat gluten-free boxed stuff, but once every so often. Like crackers or such. I eat whole foods. Eat freash meat and veggies. I do eat gluten-free rice. It's the only rice I eat. I am very careful with CC . I do the cooking I cook hubbs food first and then my own in my pans with my utensils. It may seem to be a PITA to some but it works for us. Don't fall for the gluten-free isle. I feel 20 ppm and how much of it you eat, you will be eating to much Gluten. Just my opinion. Also if your concerned about a certain food you can call the company.
I know what your saying, I was sick for a while before I had to fib to my Dr. To get him to do a Celiac panel. I was missed Dx'd with a rash they called Lichen Planus , it turned out after a couple years it was lack of Folic Acid. I say stick to who you trust. If you trust this person stick with them. I now trust my Dr. He knows now, when I go in with a problem I am not just a lonely house wife looking for a problem. I have a problem and I want a healthy remedy for it. Good luck! I hope you continue healing.
notme, and Bartful, I make my own tea all the time!! My latest thing is making flavored water with either lemon and lime or cucumber. Cut it up, put it in water and let it set a day or two. Wow!! Very good!! Bartfull, I hope I can get corn back!! Sooner or later.. It makes eating a lil simpler!!
Because I have a corn intolerance I have a problem with bacon. Not sure it is corn or nitrates or what. I have only found one kind of bacon I can eat and it's up north. I eat alot of greens! Love to put them in eggs. I don't know why I am low on FA. Maby a part of my Villi not healed??I read that alot of the grains have Folate. I am going to Macinaw Island in about a week and yes I am taking my own toaster and looking for a small toaster oven I can take so I can cook a few things. Funny I first think of Garage sales LOL Nope need a new one! Silly me! I have decided to ban restaurants. I just think I am getting Gutened or some sneaky form of corn .I usually will drink hot tea. Find that some order their Iced tea from sources that put Corn in it. Sometimes maby a salad with no dressing. Some one just asked me how long I have to be on this diet. I said forever! I tell them it is truly a life style change for me. Thank you for the support
I have lost almost 40 lbs since I have been gluten-free ... I was about 50 lbs over weight. I need 10 more lbs gone! Funny thing my daughters mom in law was DX'd a few months before I was, she was a skinny mini. She has gained the weight I have lost it. The only thing I can think of is I cannot eat corn products , I have not fallen into that gluten-free isle. I eat fresh meat and veggies every day. No Gluten ,no oats, no soy, or corn. I am having problems absorbing Folic Acid, I just went to the Doc and he put me on a good Pre natal vitamin.
Well its been two years since I was DX'd its going pretty good. I was still having problems with energy levels. I finally went to the Dr. and said you have got to do something about this, he did blood work, found out it was folic acid I was lacking. So I did a search and found I can be low on other stuff also. So tomorrow I have an appointment with my Dr. I am going to ask him if I can see a nutritionist. He asked me a long time ago if I wanted to see one and I was a lil hard headed about it. But then I found I was , corn, and soy intolerant and Lactose intolerant , I think I should go see one. Hopefully he will send me to a good one! I did find out the folate is the cause of my hair graying, my hair falling out, my toenails falling off, sores in my mouth, I was kinda ticked with all the missed diagnoses. But it is what it is and what can ya do? Most of my friends are pretty supportive, my problem mostly is eating out. I prefer not to. I am going to travel to Mackanaw the end of the month I am going to find a small microwave and bring my own toaster and bread. Aldies has a nice bread that I love and is cheaper .... If we go to a restaurant I ask that they change gloves, Talk to the chef and they usually are very good. Sometimes they will lay a piece of foil down to cook your steak. And change to a clean utensil. But I am kinda cringing. Might take some cold meats and just live on sandwiches. Not sure yet.Have a nice day everyone!
So I had to put my 11 yo Shih Tzu down not long after new years. At first I didn't want another dog because my heart was so broken. You take your dog to the vet to get a pill for issues and find out he is so sick he has to be put down. It is shocking and breaks your heart and all kinds of guilt. You think I am never getting another dog! Then the opportunity to get this lil guy
My face used to turn Bright red when I ate, no longer does. I had a Gluten free beer one day and Bam my face turned bright red. You may have other intolerances , I found I had Soy, corn, and also lactose intolerant, I can have some lactose now. and a tinge of corn now. But not much! That causes bathroom issues. Hope you find the answer to your problems.
