  1. So, I am going to address the relationship question. 1) Does your boyfriend treat you poorly since diagnosis? 2) Has he implied or stated that he feels you are a burden since your diagnosis? I went to therapy after I had my diagnosis and I felt terrible about my boyfriend having to adjust to my new lifestyle. I had a lot of guilt over it. My therapist...
  2. OMG - I don't know why I don't get notifications on comments. To answer your question - I am extremely dietery compliant and my celiac panel ran in April was totally great, all low low low. I make all my own food and I don't eat out in restaurants. Too risky for me. I have been having chronic isues that I have considered an ongoing microscopic colitits flare...
  3. Well... yesterday I had my second endoscopy performed. My GI doctor wanted to check up on my small intestine to see how its healing, as well as check my esophagus to rule out eosinophilic esophagitis. He took multiple biopsies and said my SI looked atrophied but otherwise I looked good. The combination of versed and demerol is powerful and I did not remember...
  4. I am a week into my Entocort steroid therapy for microscopic colitis. I can say that I have no discernible side effects from this drug. It has slowed down my bowel significantly. I am no longer running to the bathroom 8-10x/day. I probably go about half that amount now. The quality of the bowel movements has improved but it varies throughout the day. I have...
  5. I started budesonide treatment today. I wrote another blog post if you are curious! ;) Thanks for asking!
  6. Thanks!! I am excited for a positive change in health status! :)
  7. I saw my GI yesterday. He and I agreed to start me on Entocort EC/Budesonide medication. It is a slow release 3mg capsule that is not dissolved by the stomach pH and instead gets broken down and absorbed in the intestines. It is supposed to have a local effect versus systemic and is considered safer than prednisone. I will be on 9 mg dose once a day for ...
  8. Sadly just had gluten free chicken strips and oreida fries for dinner tonight. We ran out of Thanksgiving leftovers and have yet to venture into the grocery stores to replenish.
  9. Thankfully my doctor double-booked my appointment into his schedule and will see me tomorrow!
  10. I just got the message from my doctor that I have microscopic colitis. I had a colonoscopy last month with biopsies. The colonoscopy prep was not nearly as bad as what people have told me it would be. Honestly the best part of my experience was the prep. The scope was not so great - I woke up several times during the procedure - I was only sedated with midazolam...
  11. thanks! I appreciate the hugs. :)
  12. Well... my diarrhea has continued and not improved despite resolution of most of my other celiac symtoms. I'm going in to be tested for microscopic colitis next month. I just want to have a normal phucking bowel movement. It's been soo long I don't even remember what one looks or feels like! Hoping for answers.
  13. It would be fun to visit some other Celiac's households... But Texas is kinda far for a quick trip! Today we are having beef tacos. I baked some lemon poppy seed muffins for my boyfriend to take with him to work for breakfast. He will still buy the glutenous muffins from the grocery store and just bag them immediately and store them separate from our...
  14. I made a Thai red curry tonight from the cook book Artisanal Gluten Free. I would recommend to add green peas, snap peas, carrots and fresh basil (fresh basil as a MUST - add at the end of the recipe). I had a favorite dish at a Thai restaurant in Davis and have CRAVED it for a year now. I can now say my home recipe is 99.9% similar and my taste buds cannot...
