  4. Hi Matt, What a struggle, isn't it? As for BF foods, you could try making your own "oatmeal" using, for example, quinoa flakes and milk/almond milk, maybe adding flax or chia seeds if you feel like it. There are also nice gluten-free pancake recipes, a little involved but worth it. All the best, Eva

  7. Thanks so much for sharing your insight! My son has a lot of intolerances, and I am keeping corn out of the picture more as a precaution esp. when he is sick. That's very interesting about the magnesium stearate and corn, it makes processed foods even more of an issue, doesn't it?! Thanks again!
  8. What type of salt is best to use for healthy nutrition in general and esp. in case of food intolerances? So far I bought the regular table salt (and assumed it is safe...) but now I saw that some of the brands have nasty additives in it. Sigh, even in salt??!!
  9. I am wondering if anyone has problems with Xanthan Gum? I am aware that it is derived using glucose etc. from either corn, wheat, dairy or soy, so does your reaction depend on where it comes from? Thank you for any input!
  10. Thanks so much! I have also just received this response from Bob's Red Mill about their Xanthan Gum: The microorganism that produces it for their product is fed glucose from wheat starch. However, they guarantee their product to be gluten-free regardless.
  11. I am wondering if Xanthan Gum I safe for people with corn and soy intolerance? I assumed it was but just read that it is derived from either corn, wheat or soy. Is it safer to use Guar Gum instead for gluten-free baking?
  12. Has anyone been able to find gluten-free broth that is also free of corn and soy? I don't find the Pacific Foods (Tetra Pak) too tasty and all the others seem to contain corn etc.

  14. After being on Restoralax for a year, my son has now been given Lactulose by a doctor to deal with his extreme constipation. (He has been in terrible pain all week and the X-ray showed lots of compacted stool). Has anyone had experience with this laxative? I am a bit concerned because he is also intolerant to dairy and the med contains lactose.
