  1. Hello,   I am in need of some advice , I am having a biopsy done in a few weeks.  I had stopped eating gluten because my doctor suspected Celiac (even after negative blood test). I was feeling a little better and then she told me I should get a biopsy to double check. She told my that I should start eating gluten if I could, so they could get a more accurate test.  I have been feeling awful, I had only stopped for about 2 weeks but now even eating a little gluten everyday makes me feel miserable . My husband (who is very supportive) has told me just to give it up and not do the biopsy. There is something obviously going on with my body, either Celiac or NCGI . The only reason I hesitate is because if I do have it and my kids start having any symptoms we have a place to start. So basically I am just trying to find out if there is a away to make this easier on my body for the next few weeks. I am so tired and achy ..not fun when I have a lot to do for the holidays.   Thanks !
  2. How Long Until I Feel Better?

Thank you ! it is hard to wait it out but I am glad to know it should get better. I have had the blood test done but it came back negative. My doctor isn't convinced that I still don't have celiac so she ordered the genetic testing. Thanks for your advice.
  3. How Long Until I Feel Better?

Thank you for the advice.  I have had the blood test done and it came back negative but due to my on going problems a genetic test was done.  I am still waiting on the results of the genetic test. Hopefully I will be feeling better soon !
  4. Hello,   I have been gluten free for a little over a week. I have not officially been diagnosed with celiac but my doctor recommended I cut gluten out due to my symptoms.  I have always had very healthy eating habits and until recently because I have felt bad , I have worked out everyday.  I know everyone is different but in general how long can I expect it to take until I feel somewhat normal ? I am still very bloated and dealing with GI issues ( I am slim and it looks like I am pregnant) , I ache after I eat and just generally feel lousy and nauseous. Oh and my hands go numb( scary).  Those are just a few of the symptoms I have developed in the last 8 would take too long to list them all.  I just want some relief. I think I am doing everything right , I eat only unprocessed foods such as chicken, fruit , veggies and nuts.  However, I still feel horrible. Should I be doing something else ? I am waiting on the results of a genetic test to see if I am positive. I wish I could just curl up in a ball and sleep until this all passes. Is there a secret to moving this process along a little faster? Celiac runs in my family but I never, ever thought that my health problems could have been because of it.  I am nervous and worn out and just plain feed up . I have young kids and it is hard to keep up with them. Any advice would be appreciated , thank you !
  5. LOL , I meant false negative, sorry ! Sometimes my brain doesn't work ..thanks for the info . Hopefully I will get some answers soon. I am tired of being worn out and sick . My doctor also mentioned something about MS which is scary. My arms and hands get really heavy and tingly after I eat anything. Hopefully I will find relief soon !
  6. Hello, I have been having health problems for a few years with no relief in sight.  I am unable to eat a meal without pain and sever bloating. I am pretty much in constant pain. I get headaches after I eat and my arms feel extremely heavy (weird , I know). I have had every test and scan done, including the blood test for celiac. Always the results are negative. A year ago I also started breaking out in an extremely itchy rash on my elbows. Doctor couldn't figure out what is was.  Needless to say I am tired of feeling sick all the time. The other day I saw a wonderful nurse practitioner, she took the time to actually talk with me and go over all the lab work and tests I have had done in the last couple years.  She told me everything was pointing towards celiac even though my tests had been negative. She noticed when looking at my blood work that I was IGA deficient.  She said this could have resulted in  a negative results on the blood test.  She ordered some more labs and genetic testing.  I was just curious if any of this was similar to anyone else's case.  I have been suffering for the last  7 years and it seems no matter what I do nothing helps.  Besides these issues I am fairly healthy, I work out and am in my early thirties , I shouldn't be this miserable. Does anyone have any experience with the genetic testing or a false positive blood test?   Thanks !
