  1. Dear egs1707, You will not like what I have to say. But, like Squirmingitch (whose entire post I agree with), I am only trying to help you. 1. You have already been given all the best advice possible by the nicest people. 2. You seem unable to accept this advice; so I won't focus on being nice. 3. I believe you are clinically depressed...
  2. I also love Spicely Organic Spices! CERTIFIED GLUTEN FREE and very, very good. You can get them on amazon.com. For me, it's simply not worth taking the chance with un-certified spices. I've seen videos of how spices are gathered, transported, etc. in foreign countries. Not worth chancing the possible cross-contamination IMHO.
  3. I am so sorry for your suffering. Your story drives home the point that having Celiac Disease drives us all to do our own research and try to find a doc to help--if we are lucky. I wish you a speedy recovery and my most earnest wish that you are NEVER cross-contaminated again! You are a real trooper (little comfort, I know). Wish I could do more...
  4. Thank you so much for letting us know. Bartfull's calming optimistic peace will be missed.
  5. Hi Lisa, I can definitely relate to you. Only 2 people in my extended family were supportive of my Celiac diagnosis and lifestyle requirements. You are right about choosing a new "family" now. I had Celiac for 60 years prior to diagnosis. Lots of varying symptoms. I also had eyelid rashes that looked much like yours. I also had swelling around...
  6. Bartfull, I agree with and fully endorse your choices in how you plan to navigate the end of your life. Smart woman. That said, I will really miss your words and energy on this site. Even though I've only been here for a short time, your news made me cry. I hope I have as much notice as you when my death comes. I want to avoid (as much as possible...
  7. I really hope I didn't offend you when I referred to you as the "Energizer Bunny".  It was meant as a compliment.  I wish I had your energy!!!

No offense even taken!  I am glad that I have the energy I have now.  I recall being barely able to breathe easily and had to give up square dancing because it was too exhausting due to severe anemia.   It is not the same energy I had in earlier decades, but I will take it!

  8. Thank you for recommending annual follow-up testing!  You have facilitated the lifting of a huge weight off my back.  Tests verified I'm not getting gluten and I am healing.  It's not my fault I'm not well yet.  A big "thanks" to you!

  9. Luckily, my diagnosing GI was very kind and very good. Again, luckily, I only had to wait about 6 weeks for the appointment I'm having this week with the new GI. No idea how I got that lucky. My husband is extremely supportive and even went gluten free with me! Actually, the diet has shown more improvements for his health than for mine. I think,...
  10. Karen P, My story is very similar to yours. Diagnosed 5 1/2 years ago and not much better. Went down to 93 lbs & now back up to 108 lbs. I read this website for 5 years before I posted anything. Tried everything. I now eat only meat, some veggies, some fruit, almond flour (to bake "muffins"), olive oil (for cooking), walnut butter, and spices...
  11. Karen P, just so you know, this thread is 3 1/2 years old. You might not get any responses/help. Anyway, welcome to the forum!
  12. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can definitely relate. Many, if not most, of us have been through similar experiences. Your feelings, your symptoms, your frustrations are real. Try not to "let"anyone dismiss you. You might have to change jobs so you are not in contact with gluten. Many of us had to do this. Very few doctors know much about...
