  1. Hi everyone! I just rejoined this forum with some recent problems ive been having i knew i could come back for some comfort. I was on and off here since last december and stopped the gluten-free diet June of this year. I went throught multiple tests, bld wk, and biopsys since i had my daughter in july 04. I feel like ive been through it all. My bloodwork said positive and my biopsies showed no damage! I went on the diet then gradually fell of of it. I have been under some stress lately and the pain is picking back up again. I have hot flashes, really bad stomach pains off and on, bloating, dizzyness, const. Does this sound like anyone else??? Im thinking about going gluten-free for good! My doc said i may only have a wheat intolerance? What!!! Please post some comments or email me Please... I need some advice... Thanks (((((HUGS))))) Jessica
  2. Hello. I have been gluten-free since december. My fup is in may. They told me they would redo the blood work, to make sure all of my levels are ok. Nutrients etc. Also they will look at the testing of the intolerance that originally diagnosed me. Maybe they will just talk to you, maybe they will also do the bloodwork> Good luck!
  3. Wow! Thanks for the replies everyone! I feel so comforted. Well my doc did call me today and said regardless of the biopsies do the gluten-free diet so i am, and its for eva! I feel good knowing i have made so many friends in such a short amount of time. Thanks everyone, and keep me posted on new things. THanks again!
  4. What a warm blanket! I feel a little better now. Im having a hard time now not eating junk! Chocolate, icecream, gluten-free candy! Its hard for me. I guess i will get the hang of all this stuff soon!
  5. Well as you can see on my signature, i just recently went to georgetown university for a second biopsy. Well it came back negative no damage! Once again i was told since my bloodwork came back positive, i prob have celiac, well guess what, prob is not enough for me. I told my doctor that i want a diagnosis! He said in order to diagnose me i would now need to get the bloodwork done again to see another positive result. Should i get it done again? Also... I dont have any friends who understand my weird cravings, my sudden attitudes, my upsetting moments. Ive been gluten-free from dec to jan, off the diet from jan to feb and now back on forever! I would like to make some close friends that i can talk to, mail letters, call on the phone. Does anyone feel this way. I just wish i had a few friends that i could pick up the phone and say hey how was your day and just vent to.... Well my email address is mckaylaslove@aol.com. Maybe anyone who has anything else in common?? Im 22yr old female, live in Maryland. One beautifull daughter, 20 months old, McKayla, married. Please let me know and tell me a little about your experience, diagnosis and personality, Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Just be prepared. I had my daughter all natural. I really didnt think id beable to do it, but once in labor i kept telling myself, this can only go on so long, it will end. It wont come close to the pain of celiac. Much worse, depending on how severe yours is. The way i would describe it is a different pain, none like you can describe, more of a unbearable annoying pain. You will do great! Good luck!
  7. tHANKS FOR THE INFO... I FEEL BETTER KNOWING THAT NOW.
  8. THIS HAS MADE MY BAD DAY SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!! LOVE U GUYS! ANY OTHER POPULAR FOODS PEOPLE DONT REALIZE ARE gluten-free?? I THOUGHT IF IT SAID "MODIFIED" STARTCH IT WASNT SAFE???????????????????
  9. Please list your fav websites that have valueable info for newly diagnosed celiacs. How to live gluten free, recipes etc. I would like to know how detailed i will need to change my life, ex. kitchen supplies, what i need to look out for etc. Thanks!

  11. WELL... I HAVENT BEEN ON HERE SINCE JAN... I HAD POSITIVE BLOODWORK, THE DOC SENT ME FOR A ENDOSCOPY AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS NEG. SO I THOUGHT YEAH I DONT HAVE CELIAC. WELL I WENT BACK FOR A FOLLOW UP, STILL IN PAIN. THE DOC SAID I DEF HAVE CELIAC SINCE MY BLOODWK SHOWED IT, HE WANTS ME TO GET A ENTROSCOPY AND MORE BIOPSYS, UNTIL IT SHOWS POS. ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE? WHAT DO YOU THINK? IM GOING TO GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL TOMORROW....... HELP IM ABOUT TO GO TO BED AND NEED SOME ADVICE,
  12. Here is the address: St Joseph Medical Center 7601 Osler Drive Towson, MD 21204 Parking is $3.00 per vehicle up to 3-4 hours. and people can park in the garage or in the open lot. Once there proceed into the main entrance of the hospital and bear to the left toward the cafeteria. Go through the cafeteria to the Canticle Room. Directions: Take the Baltimore Beltway I-695; exit 25 (charles street south) to Towsontonwn Blvd. Make a left on Towsontown and then a right onto Olser Drive. The hospital is on the left. Take the third hospital entrance, Irwin Drive. Hope this helped !
  13. Ursula, Your symptoms sound just like mine! I have been suffering from bloating, and really bad abdominal pain for about 1 1/2 years now. Since i had my daughter. I have been gluten-free for about two weeks. All of a sudden i had D for 3 days strait, then the day after i had the same pain i suffered from before. Its really bad bloating and bad bad pain that lasts off and on all day. It gets worse at times. I dont know if anyone else has pain like this. I never had gotton D before just the pain. Maybe its from somethink i ate, like you maybe cross contamination. Im waiting on my results from the biopsy, my bloodwork was high looking as if i had celiac, i may just be wheat intolerant though. I wonder if anything else could be wrong if i may not have celiac or what? I think we are in the same situation!
  14. First of all i was wondering if anyone on the board lived in Maryland and if so where? I live in southern maryland myself. Im still waiting on my official diagnosis, if im "celiac" or just gluten sensitive. I feel that the group meeting would be beneficial to me. There is one at st joseph hospital at 2pm this sunday. The speaker will be Dr Alesso Fesano, who i highly reccomment. He works at the university of maryland center for celiac research. Here is the address, id be interested to know if anyone is going and who lived in maryland?? Im trying to make new friends that i can communicate with for support. Thanks! Feel free to email me if you want. mckaylaslove@aol.com
