  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I had the sore mouth corner cracks unril I started vitamin B...seemed to help and they went away. glad you are getting diagnosed and can get on to feeling much better, it is rough to have problems most of a LONG life like myself. You will get very good advice here..lots of very helpful people on this forum. good health to you...evie
  3. I ertainly can feel for you about the tooth problems...Mine started a few years before DX then all of of a sudden I needed 2 teeth removed after rotting from iside out. every year since then i need a few cavities filled or old fillings replaced. My dentist does have to remove HARD plaque every 6 motnhs and thinks I neglect my teeth but I DO NOT. Just seems I have so much plaque devlop on my teeth and cause problems, am concerned I may have to have more pulled and a new bridge made, $$$/ no dental insurance. sounds like you work very hard on your diet and maybe your teeth will catch up to a better place soon..me too. Hang i n there !!! evie
  4. Hurrah for you...you are fighting mad!!! that will make you very vigilant about what you should or should not eat...with celiac disease we have to be our own researcher and find what works for us..so glad you came on the board, stay with us and you will get a lot of good help here. & I did here 2 years ago after my DX and still do...had been having digestive problems for over 20 years, many of them/ debilitaing "D". Also have patience with yourself about not feeling better yet...for some of us it takes quite awhile if we have been sick a long time (my case too). My Dr. told me that Iwould feel worse before I felt better, at that time I was shocked but he was right. but now I am feeling so MUCH better, stronger and almost proud of myself since I am one of the oldest people on here and have gained back my lost weight. We also need to get thicker skin when around people who do not understand celiac disease!!! They can say such ridiculous things that will upset us no end!!!! Sometimes I have felt it is better to just stay quiet and vent on the board or just with understnading people..it is so great when we meet even 1 person who understands this problem. Prayers for you. evie
  5. I know how it is to feel like you are having little progress but if you had been sick some time before diagnosed it may take more time to get the small intestine healed enough to feel better making you feel like you have been cc'd. I have been a SLOW healer, took one and one half years before I started to feel progress. Still have to be careful but am much better. not trying to be a downer, just have lots of patience with your innards. evie
  6. Have you tried wearing socks to bed? I have the same problem of needing extra heat and clothing, has been worse since I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago. my heart rate is quite low, Dr. says could be from some of my neccessary meds...hope you are better soon...evie
  7. Nearly one year after Celiac DX I found I have colitis too. Not using any meds but still experimenting to find what causes upsets of both problems...does anyone eer get to the point where you feel safe in what you eat? Do you think emotions enter into theses problems? I am wondering about the colitis if it does not...I am so much better than i was at DX of celiac...have come a long way mostly due to gluten free foods. What does Asacol do for you corrine? Do you plan to do any tests for celiac? If so good luck!! evie
  8. I just recently read that going off gluten can cause deperession and related problems..like we are addicted to gluten..I have been thru that too..also does take time for the diarrhea and etc problems to get under control since people who have had this problem for some time take longer to heal their gut of the damage made by gluten...fiber is helpful for some since it thickens and slows the colon movement...sorry you do not have family support, some just do not understand and think we are weird!! Hoping for your improvement soon... evie
  9. I FEEL FOR YOU DEB, I WAS IN YOUR PLACE ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO. MY GASTRO HAD TOLD ME TO GO GLUTEN FREE AND SET UP AN ENDOSCOPY + COLONOSCOPY), THEY WERE BOTH OK. I GOT WORSE WITH BIG "D" CONSTANTLY, WEAK AND LOSING MUCH WEIGHT...THEN HE DID THE CAPSULE CAMERA WHICH SHOWED CELIAC DAMAGE, APPARENTLY I HAD THE PROBLEM SO LONG MY INTESTINES DID NOT HEAL QUICKLY SO GOT 2ND OPINION...THIS GI WANTED ME TO GO ON 'GLUTEN FOODS BUT I SAID WOULD NOT MAKE IT THROUGH...HE SAID WE SAY YOU ARE PRESUMED CELIAC, THEN I FINALLY STARTED GETTING BETTER. AT MY YEARLY TESTING I HAD ALMOST NO GLUTEN IN MY SYSTEM!!! i WOULD LIKE TO SAY 'GO GLUTEN FREE BUT YOU I AM SURE WANT A PROVEN DX FOR INSURANCE OR DISABILITY (IF COMES TO THAT)...BUT IF YOU ARE EATING A LOT OF GLUTEN I WONDER IF YOU MIGHT GET A BIT OF RELIEF DROPPING JUST A BIT OF IT?? ALSO ON GALL BLADDER AFTER SURGERY OUR DD HAD PROBLEMS/ 'D' AFTER SURGERY FOR AWHILE BUT NOT LONG. MY HUBBY NEVER HAD PROBLEMS AFTER HIS SURGERY BUT IF HE EATS TOO MANY SWEETS HE GETS 'D'. ROOTING FOR YOU, WE ALL ARE..YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT FORUM FOR HELP.. EVIE
  10. So right..it took several months for me to feel much better since I must have had the celiac condition for a long time...for some people it take s longer to start the healing process..try not to be anxoius, that will complicate things for you..feel better..evie
  11. I am wondering if you might have ulcerative colitis causing the bleeding...several months ago I had a colon infection that caused me to have the colitis..at that time the bleeding was severe but now only have it ocasionally..but have not been able to pinpoint the cause. I am celiac for one and one half years and have that pretty well under control but just do not know what causes the occasional light bleeding. Hope you find good answers soon..evie I have read so much about this Dr. Green and what a good diagnostician he is..so good luck to you!!
