  1. I just wanted to leave an update. I did go to the doctor today. I was monitored for 5 hours and had a ton of tests run. Everything with the baby is fine. I was having mild contractions but I'm not in pre-term labor. The doctor said I either have a virus, or my pains are because of the gluten I ingested. Nothing for me to do except give it a few more days of rest to see if the pains go away.
  2. Hello. I'm 6 months pregnant and I accidentally ate a stupid flour taco. Actually I only ate half of it before realizing what I was doing. Baby Brain strikes again. But now in addition to the massive headache I've had for 2 days, that Tylenol barely even helps, I'm having stomach pains. My OB doctor isn't very familiar with Celiac, so he is worthless with this problem. Otherwise, I have a very normal and healthy pregnancy/baby so far. (this is also the first time I've accidentally eaten gluten while being pregnant) My stomach hurts... more like my stomach muscles. But because everything is moved around because of the baby, it's tough to tell if what I'm experiencing is "normal" accidental glutened pains or if it's something else. Has anyone else been glutened while pregnant and had pains that went away?
  3. I have gone through my 5th or 6th stage of denial. There are times that I still think... "it won't hurt me..." I've been gluten-free for 6 years now, with only an occasional accidental gluten intake. Those few times have reminded me why I don't want to eat it. I spent too many years of my life feeling like crap and not knowing why, or thinking it was normal. Not any more. Be strong. Your body will thank you. Good luck.
  4. Yes, these are wonderful! My local grocery store has carried them for a while and I hadn't tried them until recently. I don't know what I was waiting on??

  6. Sometimes the humidity outside can even effect rising. If it's raining or really sticky hot outside I don't even bother baking. As for your beater type, more air in the batter would help.
  7. Try some crystalized Ginger. Just a tiny bite. It's a natural way to help nausea. I use it for motion sickness even and it's safe for pregnant women. Also, peppermint. Either peppermint tea or peppermint candies, both help with nausea. Good luck. Sending happy thoughts your way.

  9. That's easy... Cheese-stuffed Crust Pizza Hut Pizza. Darn you for making me drool about this. Now I have to go make my own pizza for dinner.
  10. Bleu cheese is sometimes made with bread molds... but not all of them. The trouble is finding out exactly how that particular bleu cheese is made. Unless you can get ahold of the maker, I would avoid the stuff.
  11. I think IBS is over-diagnosed. Doctors usually look for the quick fix that makes their patients have to take a pill or come back to their office over and over again. Treating Celiac means that the doctor won't see you anymore because if you're eating properly, you're fine and they don't get more money out of you.
  12. I'm not pregnant now but want to start trying in a few months. I wonder if prenatal vitamins have enough Vitamin D in them or if I need to supplement? I've put off having kids for so long because I'm scared about everything that can go wrong (I'm 32). Add this to the pile of my 'things to worry about'.
  13. This article was apparently screaming my name this morning. The past 2 nights I haven't been able to sleep. I was accidentally glutened this past weekend and still suffering. I know that most people with Celiac tell me they sleep too much or always feel tired. My mom is that way. But for me, it's the opposite. I've always had trouble sleeping and when I accidentally eat gluten nowadays, I end up not being able to sleep for days. Is anybody else like that? Even as a kid I would lay in bed for HOURS not being able to sleep. Since going gluten-free, the past 5 years have been soooo much better and I've been able to fall asleep normally.
  14. OH my goodness. That's horrible. I would have yelled back at him too. People should know better. I hope you go back next time, not being glutened, and knock 'em dead.
