I got an 'A' on the celiac presentation for my bio class. Thanks for asking. I just started new summer classes and I'm going to do another presentation on Celiac next week. When I did the first presentation I asked the class (about 30 students) if anyone knew about celiac, and not to my surprise nobody had ever heard of celiac. I brought some gluten free cookies in for the students to eat and they loved them. I was only allowed 5-7 minutes but my professor was cool and let me continue for 15 minutes so I was able to get a lot of info out to the class. Although its only 30 students in my case, it feels good to know that more people know about Celiac.

I have tried a couple of those zone perfect bars. They are great tasting, but I had some stomach discomfort the same days I ate them...Thats not saying it was the bars but I'm staying away from them just to be safe. I also like the Think Thin nutrition bars. They are gluten free, and they have a nice variety.

You should try eating some pear halves that come in the can. Ultimately the pear juice soothes my stomach when I get glutened. It works wonders for me. Has anybody else tried pear juice?

      Celiac College Presentation
For my college biology class we have to do a powerpoint presentation and report on anything that we choose as long as it deals with science. I though doing mine on Celiac would be awesome. I was diagnosed in 1995, so it has been a huge part of my life. I want more people to know about celiac, understand what it is and how it effects those with it. I know a lot about celiac, but would love to get everybody's input. Anyone who thinks they can help, please send me anything. I'll be happy to try to send anyone the powerpoint once I finish... It is due June 14th.

I'm always lookin for new foods to try or new ways to cook different things so maybe something new I tried had something in it. I'm extremely cautious when I try new foods but have been surprised before. The crazy thing is that I've been gluten free for 11 years and never had a reaction like this (if what I'm experiencing is from gluten).

    8. J-DUB added a topic in Celiac Disease - Coping With

I'm new to this forum, never posted, but have read a lot of posts and really feel like I could benefit from this forum and help everyone at the same time. I was diagnosed with celiac in 1995 and gluten free since. It was a tough lifestyle to get adjusted to while going through middle and highschool, but I dealt with it because the consequences were too severe. I stay active going to the gym consistently and play sports all the time. I usually have a lot of energy, but recently I've been completely drained even with no activity. I've been eating lots of fruits and veggies and went to my DR. and he gave be a vitamin B shot(for energy), but I still feel tired most of the time. I push myself to go to the gym but I get lightheaded after 10 min and leave. Its tough because I just turned 21 and have played sports my entire life, not to mention that all my friends are out having a good time and I feel like I can only keep my eyes open til 10:00. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. GO HEAT!!!!
