Peppermint Tea & Tums

Hi All,

 

My experience recently has been that having a cup of peppermint tea, zyrtec, and then a tums before bed helps alleviate tummy issues and sinus congestion at bedtime.  The zyrtec is to control my hive breakouts.  I don't do all these things at the same time.  I space it all out in a couple hours before bed.  I believe it also helps with my occassional tongue swelling.  Has anyone found relief doing this also?  And do you think it is ok to do this every night?  Am I on to something here?

Have you been able to figure out what is causing the hives/tounge swelling?

 

As for the tea, there is no harm in that as long as your body can handle it.

 

I used to take tums before i went to bed because of my GERD. Outside of the calcium boost, i don't think it did any harm.

I relate the hives and tongue swelling to ingesting gluten, wheat products, beer, etc.  Seems to happen after I eat pasta, breads, and sometimes other foods that tend to bother my stomach.

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any...
