How Long Before Oily Stools Go Away?

How long after going gluten free does steatorrhea or oily stools start to go away?  This is probably my least favorite symptom.  Does this take longer since it requires the intenstines to start healing?

You might check out some digestive enzymes...

I had my gallbladder out and the oily stools before giving up gluten. Probiotic helped. I take Culturelle
