Daughter: Positive tTG-IgA, DGP-IgA, and DGP-IgG. Celiac confirmed by biopsy in June 2013, at age four. Clear gastrointestinal, behavioral, and neurological/sensory symptoms since very early infancy, even when exclusively breastfeeding.
Me: Gluten-free since June 2013. Negative blood tests and biopsy after 15 years gluten-light.
Gluten challenge caused acute gastritis and esophagitis, and also angioedema that still persists.
Also diagnosed at some point with: eczema, IBS, malabsorption, chronic diarrhea, ataxia, peripheral neuropathy, livido, infertility, chronic insomnia, low cholesterol, vitamin deficiencies, joint pain, positive ANA. Italicized problems improved greatly within three months of going gluten-free.
