Anybody Ever Had Or Heard Of This?

After I was on my gluten free diet for 10 months, I started getting ulcer like sores in my anal area. :o My doctor says it's from the celiac, and wondered it I was sticking to my diet. Well I am very faithful there, but I was still baking bread for the rest of the family, which I have since stopped. Still the sores heal and come back again about once every two weeks. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mopsie

Could it be a lactose intolerance reaction? Just a thought.

Have you checked your cosmetics and shampoos for gluten? Are you female and do you use panty liners? Some (including me) get DH sores really bad from wearing them. It is either the adhesive or something they put on them to reduce odor. It sounds like your house is not gluten-free, I assume you have changed toasters and wash your hands constantly when cooking for the non gluten-free members of your family. Do you kiss your significant other when he/she has been consuming gluten? There are many sources for cross contamination, it can take some real sleuthing to figure them out sometimes. I have found that the sores reactivate very easily, some of mine have lasted up to 5 months. Be patient.

Thanks for the suggestions folks; I will have to do some searching, but for now I think I may have a lead. I've been eating corn chips - no gluten mentioned on the ingredients, but my sores started the about the same time I started eating those. We'll cut them out and see what happens. :)

About the sores. I've gotten these on my face off and on the past 3 years but I don't know what they are. I cant pin point if they came when I was glutened because if I *do* get glutened I usually cant figure out how it happened...just know I feel sick. I hadnt had the sores in awhile but 2 months ago they came back and are still there. I have one on each cheek. Sometimes they seem like they might go away and other times they seem like they got bigger.

Its like they shrink but then they swell up again. I also get one above each eye sometimes. They are strange in that they always come in the same places and when they come...they last a LONG time...so far its been 2 months and they're still there.

Do you think these could be related to gluten? Does it sound similar to what you have? I'm so curious about them. <_<

I've posted about these in the past but noone has ever answered. :(

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
