Good Docs In Columbus, Oh?

Looking for a good doc in Columbus, Ohio. Was having problems, had the bloodtest (on my suggestion) but it came up negative. I had been off gluten for a month then and (correct me if I'm wrong), I now realize I should have been eating gluten to get the test to show a positive? I have started eating gluten again and having nasty issues so I'd really like to know for sure.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I know you have been waiting a long time for a responce. Just came across your post. Sorry to hear there are no good Doctors in Columbus, Ohio. I had my biopsey done by Micheal Stiff. He is in a privet practice in Westerville. Great guy. I was initially diagnosed by my dermitologist Dr. Kevin Kericomi. I know I misspelled his last name. Sorry. He is also in westerville on Schrock Rd. I believe the name of the practice is "Westerville Dermitology".

If you have found a family care doctor let me know. Maybe if we could get a large number of people with Celiac/DH to go to the same doctor, we could help that person become a specialist.? Food for thought?

Debbie

My celiac dx was done at Riverside - they have a GREAT endoscopy department. I will dig out my info and post it on here for you. I felt like a queen (well, as much as one can when being poked and prodded!). Seriously though, I felt like I was at a spa - not a hospital.

The GI that did my endoscopy:

Mark Stechschulte, MD

Ohio Gatroenterology Group, Inc.

From their letterhead, I see that they have 3 offices in Columbus. Here are the phone #s:

614-457-1213

614-221-8355

614-864-1087

I saw him at Riverside Hospital. After he got the results of my biopsy, he sent me a formal letter explaining the results, as well as recommendations for my future care.

Good luck to you and I hope that if you go to this group, you find the help that you need.

Take care,

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
