Symptom Of Cd Or Something Else?

When my stomach is completely empty, I get really, painfully bloated. Like, looking pregnant bloated. Is this another symptom of celiac disease? It's really irritating, because being gluten-free has gotten rid of my bloating, except when I'm starving!

Thanks in advance!

Your post struck a cord, I also get bloated when my stomach is empty, wish I could help you but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.

It's even worse if I do exercise and my stoamch is bloated, I just posted about almost the same thing.

I don't think this has anything to do with celiac disease. Eat small meals or snacks more often.

If you let your stomach get too empty you can get sick-that's for pretty much everyone. However, the bloating and all of that are symptoms of celiac...and I know before I was gluten free I found it extremely hard to eat and I would have nausea all the time.

Kaiti, I find it interesting that at your age, you had mostly nausea as a symptom. I am 49 now but had been sick for 20 years or so. The main symptom I had for a long time was nausea and dizziness. I was told it was allergies. It wasen't until 2 years ago, when my symptoms worsened to D (frequent and urgent), anemia, depression, anxiety, wt. loss, tingling, etc. that I was able to get a DX. For so many years I had no idea what was wrong with me. Thank goodness you found out at a relatively young age so you can do what you need to do to be healthy. BTW--I know this is off topic, but are you still looking for recipes for your book? If so, I have one!

Welcome to the forum, @LimpToeTheTimeless Bone growth plates close in the late teens to early twenties, so it's doubtful you'll grow much taller, but you may start to bulk up in muscle.  Remember to boost your absorption of vitamins and minerals needed to build muscle by eating a nutritionally dense diet and supplementing with essential vitamins and minerals, especially Thiamine B1, to counteract the malabsorption caused by Celiac Disease. Keep us posted on your progress! Fermentation breaks down some of the gluten in wheat. Nowhere enough for a wheat dough to become gluten free, but the gluten may be significantly reduced. I think some pizzerias make the dough the day before and leave it overnight. The longer the microbes are acting on the flour, the better.

I am M 21 and I diagnosed myself after a week of fasting and slowly reintroducing stuff in my diet except gluten, I had terrible eczema scars ,dandruff and brain fog, now I am free after 6 years of just pain, I am 6'2, will I grow taller? And since I am a gymnast will my muscles grow like quicker, cause before no matter how effort I put in I just couldn't.

And the fact is, no two celiacs will necessarily respond the same to gluten exposure. Some are "silent" celiacs and don't experience obvious symptoms. But that doesn't mean no harm is being done to their gut. It just means it is subclinical.
