I got a list of mainstream products that are gluten-free, and thought I would share one item that is no longer gluten-free (found out the hard way-should have read the darn label! ). They must have changed their ingredients, as I know they just added wheat to another cereal that used to be safe. It is Malt-o-Meal Corn Bursts.

Does this happen a lot? I was never aware of companies changing ingredients like this, since I never had to read labels before, but it's always a good reminder to double check labels and not assume that if an item was on a "safe list" that it is still safe.

I lucked out, only got a small reaction, barely noticed a difference. :) But I've only been doing the gluten-free diet for a few weeks now, so my sensitivity will probably increase over time.

yeah, they changed the ingredients last summer. it really sucks because my daughter loves them. BUT Kroger's version of the same thing is currently gluten free.

It's a good rule of thumb to always read the labels even if you've bought the same product zillions of times.
