If you buy gluten free granola bars, which is your favorite brand and why?

If you don't buy them and make them at home, could you share your recipe?

Thanks!

I like Van's chocolate chip granola bars.  Always keep one in my purse- they don't have as much junk in them as other brands and they dont get smashed, lol.  They sell them all over the place now, at Walmart, too.

I also really like the Annies gluten-free chocolate chip granola bars, but around here I have only seen them at Target, and they are very small and not filling, so I only pick them up sometimes when I am there.  Open Original Shared Link

I also like these Larabar uber dark chocolate turtle bars, will pick one up sometimes:

As far as flavor goes, this one is pretty good as well.

As you can see, im a chocolate purist.  I don't like chocolate and dried fruit together. I only like dried fruit by itself.  I like to pack nuts, raisins, carrot sticks etc if I am planning and going somewhere.  They are all compact and filling.  But keeping the vans bar in my purse definitely saves me from starving sometimes!

I really like the Nature Valley granola bars.  They come in a few flavors - almond crunch is my favorite!

Good question. I'm interested in this too. My 3 year old loves the quaker chewy chocolate chip bars...but they are not gluten free. I'm going to look for one of the one Laura mentioned at the store. I'd love a recipe too!

Oh, also, I forgot to mention... I have TMJ that can flare up pretty easily, so I have to have the more chewy ones.  I can't eat the hard crunchy granola bars.  So if anyone else is looking for that, my list may help.

I've not heard of the DNA test I will definitely look into that. And I did not know that the neuropathy was symptoms of vitamin deficiency. I have been trying to get on a good vitamin regimen. Thank you!

My GI Doctor took blood work and said my Iron levels were actually high. But they took my blood a couple weeks after my infusion so I'm thinking that's why they were showing so high, but they knew I had the infusions. The infusions did help greatly but I am also on an Iron pill that I can instantly notice if I have not taken it for a few days.  Yes, I have read up on that! Thank you so much! I sure that will be fun! Hahaha

@shadycharacter, did you mean to reply to another post about sourdough bread? The present thread isn't about that.

Thanks for your response. It seems to be only with gluten, illness, or vaccination.

Welcome to the forum, @LimpToeTheTimeless Bone growth plates close in the late teens to early twenties, so it's doubtful you'll grow much taller, but you may start to bulk up in muscle.  Remember to boost your absorption of vitamins and minerals needed to build muscle by eating a nutritionally dense diet and supplementing with essential vitamins and minerals, especially Thiamine B1, to counteract the malabsorption caused by Celiac Disease.
