Does anyone know if this is gluten-free? Does anyone use it?

I see on glutenfreedrugs.com that it's not gluten-free BUT I do remember calling Bufferin and them telling me that their product is gluten-free. I want to believe glutenfreedrugs.com but who is correct? So I'd like to gather some unbiased information on this, if I could.

My book says all Bufferin, except 325mg tabs are gluten free--so I guess you shouldnt take it----I use Excedrin Migraine or Tension. Advil Gelcaps, Aleve, and Tylenol. Deb

We are on a quest for plain aspirin (Excederin has caffeine in it and other pills are not aspirin)

Deb, what book is that info from?

Excedrin has a non caffeine version. I'm sorry, its not a book so to speak! It's a tested listing from the Wheaton Celiac Support Group in Chicago. I would love to have a listing from this area because we have different products in our stores here. I do need an updated list too, this is from Sept 2004. I do know that Excedrin is gluten free. Have you looked in www.clanthompson.com they have drug listings too and they tell the date of reference. I do know that many of the Walmart products are gluten free too and they work just as well. Bayer Aspirin is gluten free too--maybe Bayer would be good for you. I can only take the Excedrin during the day cause I cant sleep when taking it at night. Kaiti may beable to help you--when I guestion anything, she always finds an answer for me. Deb

I called Novartis, who makes Bufferin and Excedrin on two separate occasions and both times the Customer Service Rep told me that these products at the 325 mg dosage are gluten free. I bought Bufferin and read the lot code and expiration date to the rep and she checked it.

My last call to them was on Monday 11/28/05

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
