I have only been gluten-free for about 3 months and just recently I started having problems with my eyes. I would wake up in the morning with them crusted shut and they were extremely dry and red in my eye and the skin underneath. I visited a dermatologist who gave me cream to take the redness away but it came right back. I decided to look into this myself and figured I would check the ingredients of my shampoo. Well, to my surprise I found out that all of the shampoo I had been using forever had Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein in it!!! It never affected me until after I went gluten-free. So, this is just a warning to everyone to check the ingredients of your shampoos and conditioners!!!
