I've been curious. One of my sons genetic markers was positive. The Dr. was looking at my side of the family. It makes complete sence but i was wondering if the test shows which side of the family it comes from. I can't find the answer anywhere.

Although I haven't had the test done myself (but plan to to see if I have one or two copies - thereby determining if both sides of my fam have it) - I don't believe that any genetic test could tell what side of the family a marker came from (unless they were using mtDNA or Y-chrom DNA, which they don't for these tests). The only way to know is for you to get the gene test yourself. Hope this info helps!
