Hello all
My mother (who is also has Celiac) gave me a great resource for dining out. She is from Canada (I live in Missouri) and the Canadian Celiac Association has a card to take with you as you dine out. It has all the information about what we can and can not eat in simple terms. My mom uses it often, and finds that the wait staff always treats the card seriously, and are very helpful. My first time using it was Yesterday at a Bar-B-Que joint. They waitress actually brought out the recipe for the "secret" B-B-Q sauce so that I could read it for myself. Then she brought out the bottles of Soy Sauce and Worchestershire sauce so that I could read the ingredients myself. What a great experience!
I am not sure if there is anything like that avialable in the US, or if you have to join the CCA to get a card (my mommy gets me mine) but you can call them at 1-800-363-7296. B)
