Brenda,

When I say "remission" I technically meant asymptomatic. Yes, you are right, it doesn't ever go away. Sorry for the confusion with my loose term.

Just curious, I haven't checked other posts of yours... and this may be a personal question and you may not want to answer it...with PCOS were you able to have children? Did treatment, like glucophage help? I am not insulin-resistant and did not respond to glucophage. We were set up to do IVF and then "poof" I became pregnant on our own. And then the second time, I became pregnant on my first cycle, after seven years of trying with the first.

And, yes, I know about muscle testing...I didn't believe in my results at first when I did it in 2000. Looking back it would have saved me a LOT of troubles! What a great chiropractor! My chiropractor gave me an alignment the day before my labor and I actually enjoyed labor, don't get me wrong, it was work and painful, but I was amazed at what the human body could do!

I am definitely getting cynical in my old age. When I read that you had been diagnosed by the muslce test I just had to reply. My chiropractor did that test on me the last time that I saw him and told me that I was having problems with my gall bladder. And he had the medication in his office that he would sell me to fix it. The rub is that my gall bladder had been removed several months earlier. He tried to sell me the meds even after I told him my gall bladder wasn't there. I never saw him again.

I'm not saying all chiropractors are "quacks", but I saw one 16 years ago when I first came down with Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfuntion Syndrome who insisted he could cure me. After nine months of staying on a special diet (supposedly based on my allergic response that day) and about $2000 of his home made homeopathic remedies, he informed that he couldn't do anymore for me. I was just as sick as the day I met him. He didn't use the muscle test. He used some type of meter that supposedly could tell what I was allergic to.

I think we are considered suckers since we are obviously sick and in need of a cure. It's unfortunate that there are so many people out there ready to prey on us.

I looked at this post because I am having the exact same problem and I was hoping to find an answer. I'm 50 and perimenapausal. And I've read that perimenopausal women can have increased vaginal discharge. And since we neither one are having the other symptoms associated with the normal yeast infection, maybe that is all it is.... marcia

Hi,

Ok. I understand the remission remark now. Thanks for clearing that up. I thought I had missed something BIG.

Yes, I was able to have children (3). But I don't know if I had the PCOS back then. They are 15, 14, and 9 (but I'm only 33). :o I don't know if that answers your question or not. I've not tried glucophage, but I tried an herbal remedy that is supposed to do the same thing as the glucophage. I felt really hyper and junky, so I got off of it. I don't know if I'm insulin resistant....I thought I was at one time...but I'm not sure. Never been tested.

Thanks for the reply!

marcia,

Well...I know what you mean by "quacks". I'm not sure if this guy is a quack or not....I haven't decided. He told me if I can't take this certain remedy, that there wasn't anything he could do for me. So, I walked out of the office, thinking I have this terrible intestinal infection, and there's nothing that can be done. UGH!!! What an awful feeling.

With your gall bladder experience....it sort of makes sense for him to pinpoint that, especially since it's gone. That's a weak area in you, and he could tell that something was off. I'm sure he assumed that you had one, and it was just not functioning. Interesting.

I do agree. We have to be careful and wise when we meet new doctors. Whether they're md's, or chiropractors, or whatever. There's really good ones, and there's really bad ones. :(

Well, I know you're supposed to have increased vaginal discharge with yeast infections.....but my problem is just the opposite. I am dry most of the time. <_< Sorry if that's TMI.....but I've not been able to figure that out, unless I am low on estrogen. But yeah, you would think if I had an infection, I would not be dry.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
