Insomnia

Last night was a first for me...I went to bed at 10:30, very very tired, but once I was prone, I was awake until 2:45 am. Has anyone experienced this, and do they know the cause?

What is the story with chocolate? I heard from two sources that plain, dark chocolate was ok. Is that right?

Does it have to be a specific kind of plain chocolate, like all organic or something?

The sleep thing happens to me ALL THE TIME. I feel like I am very tired, so I lay down, then I feel wired. I wake up many times during the night feeling wide awake. Maybe if it continues have your hormones tested. I found out that I have low DHEA which screws with your cortisol and all of your other hormones. It's like my body is in opposite mode.

I have a lot of insomnia too. But it's getting much better (I did start an anti-depressent - not that I'm recommending that for you, but it sure helped mine!) Mine was anxiety induced and just kept getting worse. Some of the things that have helped was a deep breathing exercise - just listen to your breath go in and out... say a mantra if you have... and if you feel your mind wander off, then say to yourself "I'm just listening to my breath right now.... in... out....." Sounds a little hokey; but you need to give your brain something non-stimulating to focus on.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
