I can't seem to locate any info on Morton's Steakhouse. Can anyone help me with my business dinner tomorrow night?

Did you try there website...it doesn't have info on gluten-free stuff but if you call them I bet you can talk to someone who can help. Here is there contact page on their website.

Morton's has an "au juice" that they put on all their steaks and it is NOT gluten free. I've been stung there before because their own staff wasn't aware so you have to order your steak without the sauce.

My steak came on top of a giant piece of bread all soaked in au jus.

Since I had already explained my allergy to the waiter, I was shocked. He said it was a crouton.

It was New Year's Eve.

So I ate the steak and ordered Volcano Cake and ate that too.

And my honey rubbed my back all night long.

I'll never forget our expensive New Year's dinner.

I went to Morton's a few months ago for my anniversary and our waiter was not only hysterically funny, but also very helpful and thorough in making sure all my food was ok.

He checked on everything for me. He suggested that my steak be cooked without their seasoing because he couldn't guarantee it was ok. My husband wanted to order the hashbrowns but he said the lyonaise potatoes which are almost the same type of thing, might be a better choice (I forget why, but he was hesitant about the hash browns). At first he thought the godiva chocolate souffle was flourless, but after checking on it, realized they do add a tiny bit of flour.

So I had a filet mignon with bernaise sauce, asparagus (which I also love to put the bernaise sauce on), and lyonaise potatoes. It was delicious; and fun meal.

Looks like it's time for a current 2009 update on Morton's Steakhouse.

I was diagnosed a Celiac 5 years ago, and make a point of checking here and the restaurant listings before I go anywhere. I had an unavoidable business function at the Morton's in Hackensack NJ, and based on what I read here I was concerned.

What a pleasant surprise to find that Morton's is fully functional as a gluten-free-friendly restaurant, on a global basis.

They have a gluten-free menu, the wait-staff and kitchen staff are all trained to handle gluten-free (and other food allergies as well). Their vegetables and meats are all tremendous, and they have at least one gluten-free dessert available for any given sitting.

They have made a corporate global policy of addressing gluten-free needs, and will be making an official corporate statement at some point in the very near future.

Meanwhile, it's a great place for a great gluten-free steak experience.

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
