Nobody's opposed to using love loosley, are they? :P

Again, me first! :D

I LOVE that my DH thinks this whole Celiac thing makes *perfect sense* to him

I LOVE that my local Wild Oats sells Chebe pizza mixes so I can still have Friday Pizza Night

I LOVE that my doctor uses common sense

I LOVE rocking out to "Freebird" on my ipod while cooking

I LOVE rocking out to *anything* on my ipod while cooking

I LOVE that my DH thinks rocking out to the ipod while cooking is sexy

I LOVE my favorite Dow chemical sleeping t-shirt that I stole from DH when we were dating, who knew a cheap, free, t-shirt would be so comfy and soft

I LOVE my kitties, even when they wake me up in the middle of the night wanting attention or if one bites me in the butt because I'm rocking out too hard on the ipod

I LOVE that I was the first to know that my best friend was pregnant, because she was staying with be before the wedding

I LOVE that my grandfather is recovering well and is trying to talk to his apparently cute nurse, which also means he can kind of see her

I LOVE that my friends surprise me with support

I LOVE that overnight the brown grass in Texas turned green

I LOVE (and miss) fall

I LOVE the simple pleasure of eating reddi whip from the can in front of the fridge

I LOVE that I'm still a good cook gluten-free

I LOVE sleeping in my own bed

I LOVE my tiara from the wedding, and I still wear it around the house

I LOVE that my girl scouts look up to me, the same way I looked up at my gs leader

I LOVE that I found so much support on this board

I LOVE the word snarky

I LOVE all of the things I take for granted, family, home, health, friends, and security

I LOVE that I have all of the things listed above

 YOUR TURN!!!!

I love my husband for more things than I can list here!

I love that I'm going to be a mommy in just a few months!

I love how the baby's nursery is coming together! (We put up a chair rail and painted all the trim cream. It's pistachio green above the rail and chocolate brown below it. Then I painted a tree (that turned out GREAT) and critters on the wall. All the furniture is cream except the crib which is the same brown as the wall with green bedding)

I love feeling Ian move!

I love that I have a dress that I like and that it still fits!

I love that my best friend is flying in from Georgia to visit me this weekend!

I love that a GREAT new restaurant just opened in town and that the manager knows me by name is is VERY helpful with my diet!

I love that I came to terms with my inability to tan, and never have to torture myself with trying to get a tan again!

I love that my mom and I are close and we talk every day!

I love that I have everything I need in life to make me happy!

I LOVE the fact that I am not sick everyday!

I LOVE my 5 kids and the 6 grandchildren they gave me!

I LOVE me sweetheart and the fact that he is always watching out for gluten free treats for me. ;)

I LOVE that he will try any gluten free thing I bake and actually seems to like them. :P

I LOVE the fact that the ocean is my playground now! B)

I LOVE the fact that I know what's wrong, even if it has to be celiacs, cause now, I have a life again! :D

I LOVE the fact that I love myself now!

It's even cool that someone crazy about music like I am crazy about music actually started a silly thread like this one.

Chelse and everyone else--as LEEANN WOMACK sings so well--I HOPE YOU DANCE--I do feel small beside the ocean and what a wonderful feeling it is!!!!!!!!

I love it when people don't hold grudges

I love patience (just wish I had more)

I love the Buddist idea that the feeling of seperateness is the source of human suffering (makes you just want to give people hugs and help them heal)

I love my kitties - especially when they crawl onto my lap and fall asleep. I love that I have two males, but they get along and give each other kisses regularly

I love beaches - I only wish we treated them better

I love greenspace, birds, wildlife, flowers.......all things natural. They bring peace to my world of concrete.

I love taking public transportation

I love that even when my husband is frustrated with me and calls me a "pill", he is still loving and willing to help me

I love how yoga and running make me feel

I love poetry (and have gotten into Def Poetry Jams on HBO)

I love my freckles

I love it when girls with normal bodies are comfortable with themselves (their sense of confidence helps me feel confident)

I love reading, learning

I love museums (esp. natural history)

I love art

I love self-expression (does this cover art, this tread, tattoos? whatever makes you you)

I love that I fall in love with people so easily (I am not speaking of romantic love here - more like brotherly/sisterly/friendship love).

I love that we can recognize what we love

I LOVE that my friends and family are being very supportive.

LOVE that none of them questioned me when I first tried the gluten free diet without knowing for sure if I needed to.

I LOVE that the new group of doctors I've been seeing haven't questioned my gluten sensitivity testing through Enterolab.

I LOVE that I feel I can talk over the whole thing with the new GI I see on Monday who is part of that same group.

I LOVE that I love fruits and vegetables making this diet a bit easier.

I LOVE that there is hope.

I LOVE that there are people who ask these kinds of questions on these types of forums that make me think about things. :D

MORE THINGS I LOVE:

Painting

Singing

Shopping

Being a slug on the couch

Finding something delicious that is healthy for me

I'm sure there's more

I love my husband and 4 children.

I love that when my 14 year old daughter called me this morning to ask me to bring her something, her last words were, "I love you, mom".

I love that I am healthy and (at 42) can still whoop the tar out of my middle school basketball team on the court.

I love the memory of the rheumatologist who told me that I'd be in and out of a wheelchair for the rest of my life - every time I do a triathlon I laugh at him.

I love my job (teaching elementary PE at my kids' school part-time).

I love that I haven't had to take prednisone for almost 2 years.

I love that my kidney disease has been in remission for 2 years when the doctor told me it would be a miracle for it to stay in remission for 1 year.

I love that we still have freedom of religion, freedom of speech and the many other freedoms in this country.

I love Jesus.

I love my gluten-free flour mix that allows me to bake yummy food for my whole family.

I love basketball and am watching it now (no school today). Sorry to those of you who hate it and have husbands who love it.

I love the person who developed Kinnickinnick K-toos!

YAY!

I LOVE...

...that my sweetheart's two days off traveling were in Chicago with me!

...that my best friend is so so so understanding and sweet and supportive about my celiac.

...the triumphant feeling of figuring something out about my celiac through detective work.

...that all y'all seem to love the word "snarky" too.

...that rose in NJ called her doctor an "ahole" in the "hate" post - HA! i love that word! somehow it sounds even ...worse than the one it's supposed to be euphemizing.

...that the drama in the hatin' post resolved itself really quickly and with good feelings all around.

...that i can tap into a free internet signal here at home so i can check in with this community.

...that i'm not sick all the time anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

...that i often get an immediate reaction to gluten - helps me me straight.

...that i have to learn how to cook for myself - celiac is the ultimate motivator.

...that my best friends are opening a restaurant and i'm going to help them make a gluten-free version of their menu.

...yoga!

 I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my husband

He is the most supportive, wonderful, patient caring person I know and I would be nothing without him. After being together for 16 years I still enjoy going out with him and my friends yelling at us to "get a room"

I am somewhat grateful that I will never have to deal with my youngest running around in a store and getting into everything (she is 7 years old at an 9 month old developmental level).

I love the fact my husband and I are raising a really really great 14 year old daughter who knows right from wrong, has an 4.12 GPA and has the internal drive to be the best that she can be and has a really good head on her shoulders.

I love the fact I never had to be in the dating world (meet my husband when I was 15)

I love that I will have earned a second college degree, while working full time and be finally done in December

I love that I am so so so spoiled

I love that my doctor finally figured out what was wrong with me and that I finally feel better.

I love that I have not been a big wheat eater for the past 3 years and that this disease has not done any damage (just made me feel like crap)

I am grateful that my husband and I have the ability to arrange our work schedules so some one is always home with our daughters and we both can still work (I know, this is a real treat) and we have no life.

I love my life. It has its problems but we are healthy, have good jobs and lead a comfortable life.

I'm pretty sure that in stores, you can find plenty of gluten-free options. But they are usually a bit more expensive.

Hello @BunnyBrown and welcome to the forum. I cannot say that I have had the procedure you describe, but recently I did have general surgery and was routinely intubated.  That pain was what troubled me most after the operation, far more than the operation site.  It took a few days to really settle down, I was quite badly bruised. It was taking so long I was a bit concerned so asked the question on another forum. A few patients came back to me and said they had suffered the same.  I imagine in my own case possibly the throat got bashed about a bit,  maybe they had difficult inserting the tube?  I've suffered with a painful throat post-endoscopy too, but never as long as the intubation pain.   I hope you will be feeling better very soon.   PS BTW - love the name!  I saw this today in an Easter display in a shop and your name reminded me of it.🙂

This wonderful, Anne. I think you have a point about why people disappear off forums.  I found the first few years post diagnosis a real struggle and frankly wondered if I would ever feel better (not to dishearten people, but just to say it can take a while longer for some folk to heal).  However, once my antibodies were back within normal range it really has made a big difference to my health.  I've chosen to stick around because I'm a Mod, otherwise I might have been one of those that disappeared, too!
