Could It Be Stress?

I have a question: Can you have a gluten type reaction from stress? I have been feeling well for a week or so (since my last accidental glutening) and then today I feel like someone beat me up and I keep running to the bathroom. I don't think I got any gluten this time, but my little girl is sick and that stresses me out big time. I didn't really get any sleep last night because I kept checking on her. She has a tendency to get pnuamonia and started having those signs yesterday along with a high fever.....

Needless to say I am worn out with all the worrying! So if anyone knows if stress can do this to you, please let me know!!!!

Thanks,

Lollie

Yes! Being stressed and worn out always triggers tummy trouble with me. I've even started to include a stress scale in my food log so I can how it correlates to my stomach.

I'd say try and relax, but I know how it is when your baby is sick :(

I definatly think it could be. I've been D & C free since I went gluten free. Ate the same things this week that I usually do. Well......was I ever feeling sick. Only one thing was different....I was stressed out!

Our bank's internet system was hacked into, and guess who's bank accounts were emptied out :o

Oh no!--No wonder you're stressed out. I know when I'm under a lot of stress, it affects me physically as well. Laura--hope the baby feels better soon :)

Thanks guys!!! I kind of figured it's the stress- but it is so nice to have others agree and affirm!

My baby is doing better today. We went to the doc this morning, her lungs sounded good, but the doc went ahead and prescribed the normal anibiotics and vapor treatments. In case she gets worse. I'm really hoping she fights it back this time!

francelajoie- So sorry about your bank account- it makes my stomache knot up just to think of it!!!! I hope they find out who did this quickly and restore your account!

My dr. refers to our guts as a "second brain", that it has the same hormones/chemicals as our brain does and that's why it reacts to stress.

Also helps explain why since going on an anti-depressant my IBS has cleared up tremendously!!

Maybe that's why I always get a "gut feeling" about when my kids are ill! Something to think about!!!!!!

STRESS DOES IT TO ME--ALMOST EVERY TIME--KEEPING A STRESS JOURNAL BESIDE THE FOOD is the answer I found OUT when recording this...

that's why they always said IBS..to me for years.

I haven't answered your email, sorry...will get to it but just went on line here..and got caught up in reading the 'get together' thread...emails as easier than jumping around on the site...

SOOOO

NOW BACK TO STRESS...Kinzie being sick has done it in my humble opinon..and not getting sleep b/c you were up all nite off and on cking on her...and bet you weren't eating much for yourself.

'bankaccount' post... bet you had some reaction to the stress of that :( How horrid..

Interesting you posted today lollie b/c i keep being reminded of this...too...

this am worked like a dog getting 'all chores' done to FINALLY make swimming class since before i left and went to CA. Went out to get into the car.....it wouldn't start AGAIN...6th time since we've been home from CA.. $900.00 spent the day before we left to FIX it...so spent 4 hr's with AAA and phones,,ran to get 'shampoo / conditioner to take to hair apt .....came home fixed abunch of foods to for dinner tonight and other dinners...and them

EXPLOSIVE D AND 1/2 HR CLEAN UP...LAYING DOWN WITH HEATING PAD...

I WAS WONDERFING IF IT WAS THE HILSHIRE FARMS HOT DOGS LAST NITE..THOUGHT THEY WERE gluten-free..

BUT NOW...MAYBE??? BUT WHAT EVER THE STRESS USUALLY IS THE 'TRIGGER' THAT THROUGHS ME OVER THE EDGE.....AND NOT TAKING SOME QUITE TIME FOR ME TO UNWIND BEFORE I JUMPED INTO COOKING.

HOPE KINZIE IS DOING BETTER...HUGS TO YOU BOTH.

Yeah, I haven't been taking very good care of myself, and I haven't eaten well.....

I had DH pick up some good food from the Central Market on the way home, so hopeful now I will feel better. But I think probably I will feel better when Kinzie feels better! She took a long nap this afternoon, and when she woke up she was back up to 102! :( I hope I don't have to get the antibiotic for her, but if the fever persists, I guess she will have to. Even worse, she's going to have to miss a western theme day at school, with performers and all. We had a little western out-fit already for her!!!! Oh well, we do live in Texas.....

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
