I have been a diagnosed celiac 8 years this month. 2 of my 3 children ages 5, 3 and 2 just blood tested postive for the disease. Considering my diagnosis and their positive blood test results, I do not anticipate having them biopsied.

My questions is this. I was told by the Dr. that any number from 0-10 is considered negative and over 10 is considered positive. According to her, these blood tests are 99% accurate. Does anyone know what this number is that she is talking about? I want to understand what these numbers might signafy and would like to research what the test results mean. My 5 year old tested at a 14.1 and my 2 year old at an 80.

      Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
