I was diagnosed with diabetes and was looking at some of the diabetic foods available. Isomalt was listed in almost everything. Does anyone know what this is? Is it safe?

mmm... sugar substitutes. another reason to stick to whole foods, naturally gluten-free.

Thanks for your replies. I think i'll go with the 'if you can't wash it don't eat it' that someone mentioned. I don't think I need all the chemicals that they stick in 'sugar' free stuff. It just seems so weird cause I already avoid carbs, almost never drink soda and my only candy is chocolate. Hopefully this isn't going to cause me to lose more weight.

Avocados and coconuts! :-) That'll help keep the calorie count up!
