Been gluten-free for about 3 months.

When I first started the gluten-free diet I got so sick (extreme nausea) I had to be taken to emergency (I've been there 4 times since than).

Ever since than I've been feeling sicker everyday.

The doctor put me on Zofran (anti-emetic) just so I can eat .

Is it normal to take this long to feel better? I'm thinking about giving up the gluten-free diet just because I feel so sick.

Someone please tell me if this is normal.

Normal to take weeks or months to get fully better...but your symptoms should be getting better with each day, not worse. A nutritionist told me that your symptoms can get worse (as you say your symptoms have) before they get better. I always thought I had it bad, but not nearly as bad as you have. I had been w/o symptoms for the past two weeks (a record), but felt sick last night, slept little, and threw up this morning. Good luck.

This is not normal. You might have celiac disease but there's obviously something else going on.

Thanks for your help.

My doctor told me she's going to hospitalize me to get a lot more tests done.

They think I might also have Colitis or intestinal spasms.

Hope they can help me.

Thanks again.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
