I was diagnosed in October 2003 but the GI cannot answer any of my questions. I have had to research everything on my own. I'm also looking for a suport group in the area.

Marybet,

If you live in the Chicago area you should contact the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Program. They have a lot of information on their website, and if you couldn't get in to see one of their doctors, then maybe they could put you in touch with another good one. They could also point you towards some support groups in your area.

Here is the contact information I found on this site-Celiac.com:

Michelle Melin-Rogovin, Program Director
The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Program
at The University of Chicago Children's Hospital
5839 S. Maryland Avenue, MC 4065
Chicago, Illinois 60637
Tel: (773) 702-7593
Fax: (773) 702-0666
E-mail: mmelinro@PEDS.BSD.UCHICAGO.EDU

Chicago - Support Group
Celiac Sprue Association of Greater Chicago
P.O.Box 93
Arlington Heights, IL 60006
Tel: (847) 255-4156
http://www.csagc.cjb.net

I hope this helps.
God bless,
Mariann :)
