I have been told conficting things about chocolate being gluten free.
Are some safe and some not? thanks in advance.

Yes. Hershey's is a company that will clearly list any gluten ingredients, and not hide them under names like natural flavor--so their stuff is fine. Nestles is the same. Dove Chocolate is safe, too. You always need to read labels, though--there are chocolates that do contain gluten.
