Hi, I was wondering if the information I got was correct, that Lipitor is not glutend free. My Doctor prescribed it and I felt awful when I took it 3 times. I stopped and then read in a gluten information book that it was not gluten free. Anyone else have any information on this. Thank you so much.

I am on Lescol for cholesterol have been for over 5 months and I have had no side effects from it. Lipitor and Zocor both made me sick.

Can you tell me what gluten-free book you found that information in?

In reality virtually all prescription medicines are gluten-free, although many companies now give you the CYA routine (if they tell you it's not supposed to have gluten but they won't guarantee it, you can assume it's gluten-free). I'd call Pfizer and ask them, but if I remember correctly they're not real cooperative.

Found this site. Not about gluten, but is about Lipitor. Not sure of the source, but interesting stuff and lots of links.
