There is a local restaurant in Nashville that I have been in contact with about what I can and cannot eat. They have been very helpful, but they say, due to a liscensing agreement, they cannot tell me what spices are in their black beans. Are there any spices that I should ask her about? I can't think of anything. Everything else appears to be fine. There are no thickening agents or anything else in the beans. Just some spices. Any help would be apprecaited.
Thanks

sometimes spices are mixed with wheat startch for ease of pouring... you can ask what company, perhaps, they get their spices from, and then check the source of that.

I have read that pepper can be mixed with flour.
