apart from the gluten thing i have a milk issue, yeserday i made tea and me and hubby decided on bacon and leftovers, we cooked it all on the george grill, all gluten-free, and it was good untill i found left over mashed potatoe in the fridge and decided to put that on the grill too, before i knew it i had eaten the bacon and was there licking the mashed potatoe spoon and helping myself to another mouthfull, anyway i turned around to find my hubby stareing at me, " WHAT " i said , he said " trace you put butter and milk in that yeserday for the boys tea " i cant believe what i did , im really annoyed with myself, it was like a reaction and i wasnt thinking at all, my mind lapsed for such a short time, pitty the pain of what i did wont last for such a short time. my tummy is bloated and haveing D, dont feel to good at all, the worst is im suppose to be going to running club tonight, im really upset i cant go now, im considering bloweing it and saying to myself " F*** it im ill anyway why not go for broke and really enjoy something and have a bloody good reason for being ill" sorry i just feel so crappy!!!!!!

((((((hugs)))))) Don't be too hard on yourself and please don't 'punish' yourself for a mistake by making it worse. I hope you feel better soon.

Don't beat yourself up....I did the same thing one day when I was making cupcakes for my daughters class. <_< I was using the canned frosting, pinched for time  , and when I was done I just started licking my fingers. I was so sick that evening and the next day. It happens, and you pay for it in pain. No need to add to it with anything else!

Feel Better Soon!!!!!! :)

I am sorry to hear it. I have the same problem when I'm doing something for my kids-- especially with ice-cream. It just seems so unfair, but don't make it worse by eating something else that is not good for you! The cramps are not worth it. And it changes life. Our family life has changed drastically b/c of this crazy disease. Hang in there and feel better soon!

That's a good idea. It can at least establish the potential for developing celiac disease and can help people decided between a celiac diagnosis and NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). And it doesn't require a gluten challenge and can be had without a doctor's prescription.

I have my endoscopy on Thursday, has anyone had the procedure done with a cough? I don't have a continuous cough, but every now and then throughout the day I have sort of coughing episodes. They are a lot better than they were but I called endoscopy and they said to speak to my gp and my gp got back to me and said I need to ask endoscopy if its ok if I have it done still.  Help!

Thank you so much, everyone. For the moment my doctor just has me taking iron but hopefully we can reconnect soon. I'm going to look into genetic testing, too. Great advice all around and I appreciate it--and you can bet I'm going off the PPIs!

I walk fast for fitness, 4 to 6 km per day. I am also 74 years old. Apart from the Celiac challenge, my lifestyle is healthy. I had a sciatiac nerve pinching under my one foot, with inflamation in my whole shin. It was almost cured, when the other shin started paining and burning. I do stretches, use a natural cooling gel and rest my feet. Can Celiac cause muscle pains/inflamation, or is it just over-excercising?

I recently started shopping at a nearby Trader Joe's store. I was surprised at the number and variety of (healthy) gluten-free options sold there. I must admit their low prices are also quite tempting. However, I am curious as to the labeling on all their packages. While none of their products are certified as gluten-free, many are identified as 'GLUTEN FREE' on the packaging. Are these items safe for celiacs? Has anyone tried Trader Joe's products and have there been any adverse reactions?
