No Insurance, No Testing?

I was just wondering what the most affordable way to be tested for Celiac is. My daughter was diagnosed this past February and my husband and I have both experienced the symptoms for it, but she is the only one of us with health insurance right now. I would hate to know that we are damaging ourselves by not being gluten free, but we cannot afford much right now.

You can try Open Original Shared Link, they perform a stool panel test which is more sensitive than blood and more accurate.

Also, an improvement on a gluten-free diet is a test in itself, if you are not worried about a doctors diagnosis.

I hope you and your husband find accurate answers soon! :D

You can always just try the diet. If you know you feel sick and the diet helps then does it really matter that you have a doctors diagnosis? I know people want to confirm the diagnosis but if the diet helps then for a diagnosis you need to go back on gluten unless you do entrolab testing.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
