My 2yold DD is seeing a new GI Dr on Monday, and we will be discussing testing. I keep reading about how only a few labs are accurate for the blood tests, does anyone know which labs in the US? And which test should she be getting?
My DD is also gluten-free for 9mos, so we won't be doing testing this time, just getting info.

Promethius labs is one of the best labs for Celiac testing in the US, but if your daughter has been gluten-free for 9 months then there is no point in testing her right now. About the only thing you could test for is the Celiac genes, unless you put her back on gluten for 3-6 months (some doctors will tell you that a few weeks is enough time, but it isn't for most people.)

You would usually have to get it pre-approved by your insurance for Promethius. It costs $750 for the gene test.

Or you could do the gene test through Enterolab for $150, and you don't even need a doctors orders. But it isn't always reimbursed by the insurance. Also you would have to discuss withyour new doctor about whether they would accept the results from Enterolab. You can get more info at http://www.enterolab.com
