Okay so I drink tea ALOT (like at least 2-3 cups a day). I usually have 1 cup of caffineated tea in the morning and then drink unsweetened iced tea alternating with water throughout the day. I have always drank peppermint tea or ginger tea to calm my stomach when its upset. I thought I may have read something possibly on this forumn about the dangers of being glutened with herbal teas. Does anyone know what the deal is? Maybe there are only certain varieties that may have gluten in their ingredients? I would never suspect gluten to be in organic herbal tea bags.

I used to drink herbal tea all the time before going gluten-free. After I started eating gluten-free, I realized my favorite herbal tea had barley in it. So sad....I had to throw it out. The stupid thing is, that tea always made my stomach hurt, but I never realized it was the tea.
It was Celestial Seasonings English Toffee Dessert Tea - contains roasted barley.

Now, I only black tea, and I haven't had any problems.
