What Does This Mean (enterolab Result)?

So...I read on another post that the subtype under "serologic equivalent" has specific meaning. Another poster had subtype 6, and someone said that meant they could have neurological problems with continued gluten exposure.

This was Ryan's result:

Serologic equivalent: HLA-DQ 1,1 (Subtype 5,5)

It went on to explain that he had two genes predisposing him to gluten sensitivity, but didn't explain what the subtype meant. Anybody know what subtype 5,5 means ?

I'm sorry I can't help you with the exact answer. I had a different set of numbers and was confused as well. My best advice is to call enterolab and ask to speak to the nurse about interpreting your results. She will either speak to you then or call you back. She explained to me exactly what my gene tests meant.
