Ahem...(clears throat)

Me-me-me-meeeeeee...

My bologna has a first name it's O-S-C-A-R, my bologna has a second name, it's M-A-Y-E-R. Oh! I love to eat it every day and if you ask me why I'll say.'Cause Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A!

I had to get that out of my system. I made my daughter a bologna sandwich this morning and that accursed jingle has been haunting me since! <_<

We've been having such fun on the gfp thread lately, and made such a crazy mess of it, that I thought it was time to move the silliness to it's own silly home. So come on in and join the silliness. Any topic is fair game. Laughter is the best medicine!

Does anybody else have a particularly annoying jingle stuck in their head? (Who let the dogs out?)

Boys and girls take warning, if you go near the lake

Keep your eyes wide open, and look for sneaky snake

Now maybe you wont see him, maybe you wont hear

But hell sneak up behind you, and drink all your root beer

And then sneaky snake goes dancin, wigglin and a-hissin

Sneaky snake goes dancin, gigglin and a-kissin

I dont like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see

When he goes wigglin through the grass, it tickles his underneath

Well, sneaky snake drinks root beer, and he just makes me sick

When he is not dancin, he looks just like a stick

Now, he doesnt have any arms or legs, you cannot see his ears

And while we are not lookin, hes stealin all of our beer

And then sneaky snake goes dancin, wigglin and a-hissin

Sneaky snake goes dancin, gigglin and a-kissin

I dont like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see

When he goes wigglin through the grass, it tickles his underneath

Ooh--what fun! :D

The song that's been going through my head like a nail is the music from the commercial for Grey's Anatomy. Rob Thomas's "Streetcorner Serenade"--I went so far as to download it (legally :P ) so I could listen to it all the way through! I like it so much, I plan to buy the C.D.

I have so many songs stuck in my head right now, it's a jukebox up there  I've been hearing theses songs on the radio repetitively so they have permeated my brain and they seem to come out at random times, like when I was trying to go to sleep last night....

"Mama's Room" by Under the Influence of Giants

"Paralyzed" by Rock Kills Kid

"Steady As She Goes" by The Raconteurs

"Move Along" All American Rejects

Hi Richard! I'm here, so the party can start today. I haven't posted because I don't know the words to songs .... I play flute, and usually all I hear is the melody ... I played this morning at Church, it's always enjoyable. The proper breathing is energizing, too .... maybe I should practice (I never do, I just go sight-read every weekend!)

Well, I'm enjoying my Sunday coffee, yum. My 1/4 donut was good, too. Sorry you have to wait till tomorrow for yours! I saw the chocolate ones at Wild Oats when I bought my vanilla -- thought of you!

The particular magnesium formulation makes a huge difference. The vast majority of magnesium supplements on store shelves are magnesium oxide and it can have a very definite laxative effect because it isn't absorbed well and draws water into the colon. A much better choice is magnesium glycinate.

Thanks for the advice @Liquid lunch!!! I will look into the essential oils but right now I'm hopefully on the path to recovery with my acne. I was prescribed Doxycycline on March 12th, which I was gone all day because we live 1hr and 30 mins from my Dermatologist, he said Doxycycline had little to no side effects and was a step down from Minocycline and I've experienced no issues with it so far (I may need to wait longer since I've been on it for 2 days so far). I'm also on Clindamycin gel and Tretinoin gel to dry my face up from how oily it is.   I will see about the b Multi Vitamins and magnesium. My mom has magnesium pills for her, but it's the wrong dosage and it's too strong for me, as I'm still quite young.  About the milk, I only drink Almond milk, the 2% stuff makes my stomach upset and I get really gassy and bloated from it, at this point I'm scared to drink any other milks.

@Lrgthrcl, We call it a food/mood/poo'd journal.  Keeping track of mood swings helped me track high histamine reactions to certain foods.   Good plan!  Great advocating for your daughter! Looking forward to hearing from you!  Best wishes

Hi @B1rdL0ver, I’ve been on a steep learning curve with my issues and found a few things that might help with yours. Skin problems -  I use neat cardamom essential oil, clove also works or a blend of the two which smells good. The relief is pretty much immediate, some people advise caution using neat essential oil on skin but I’ve never had a problem with it and find it’s more effective than when diluted with a carrier oil. You do have to be sure it’s proper essential oil from a reputable supplier though as synthetic ones are dangerous. Nausea, feeling rubbish, and digestive problems- homemade kefir is amazing, like yogurt but LOADS more probiotics included. If you mix it with coconut milk just before drinking it keeps it alive in there longer and tastes good. Brain fog- as kitty mentioned already b1 is amazing, I take it with a b multivitamin and magnesium which is apparently necessary. Ignore the dose on the bottle and ask knitty kitty for more details, she’s amazing. Inflammatory foods not containing gluten are also off my shopping list, the corn you mentioned has a lot of lectins, as do most seeds, beans (coffee/soya ect.), cucumbers, brown rice, peanut butter,  tomatoes, potatoes, chillies, pulses, I’m experimenting with fermentation to reduce them. A2 raw pasture fed milk is worth getting if you can. It’s been a long slow and painful process figuring these out so hopefully it’ll save you the bother if any of them help.

Wow, all of your responses have been so in depth and informative, you have no idea how much I appreciate that, thank you! I am absolutely pushing for answers and will be taking all of this information (and suggested reads) with me. I feel we are on the right track.  I am absolutely not changing her diet or supplementing with any vitamins for now, while we do the food diary and until I hear more about the next course of action, I felt it was important to document all types of food and her bowel movements and any symptoms to see if there are any correlations and to prove that she has access to various nutrients. Thankfully she enjoys, and always has enjoyed all foods, so her diet is varied and healthy... although she managed her anxiety incredibly well at the dentist today so day 2 of documenting included a Greggs folowed by dunkin donut and frappe treat - the rest should be pretty healthy!  Honestly, you have all made me  feel 'seen' and understood and that means a lot, thank you again! I will definitely keep adding to this thread as we hear more.
