What Skin Problems Am I Looking For?

Hi, I have a Celiac son who is 6 and a 4 year old son who is not yet diagnosed. He has some problems that can go with Celiac such as constipation and developmental delays but I have a question regarding what dermatitis problems are connected. His name is Lucas and ever since he was an infant we have had trouble with his skin. Starting with eczema and a lot of rashes. But the rashes always appear on his face. Earlier in the week he started with a light rash around the left side of his chin. Since then it has spread up his cheek to his ear and under his eye. It does not bother him at all and it is pinkish, raised, and the bumps are small. Does this sound like anything or just a skin rash? It is not there all the time. Any advice is helpful. Thanks.

Many people with Celiac Disease have many skin issues. DH is typically symmetrical, raised, and oozing blisters that are intensely itchy. I say typically because there are some people that do not have symmetrical breakouts. Mine were typical - both arms, both legs, etc. DH has an itch that cannot be relieved - the more you scratch the worse it gets.

From what you describe, it sounds like your son may have some other skin issue.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
