Sodium Caseinate

Okay on the safe and forbidden list- Sodium caseinate is on the forbidden list and it says in parentheses contains MSG. However on the safe list is MSG. So I am confused. Is sodium caseinate okay or not? Do you guys eat products with it in there? It is in Kroger's hot chocolate mix.

Whose list are you talking about?

I don't know about gluten, but if you need to avoid milk, sodium caseinate is something you can't have, because casein is a milk protein.

So does the list that says it's bad, also for avoiding milk, or just gluten?

This site (celiac.com) has a list of safe and forbidden ingredients for celiac (gluten).

Kroger has a dietitan line and they are fantastic. I even call them from the store on my cell if I want a Kroger product and it has some mystery "natural flavor" on the label.

They are open during the week from 8-5 EST, I think, but not on the weekends!

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
