I just asked an Italian restaurant if I could bring in my own pasta to have them prepare with their sauce. I was told that it's not legal; against health code regulations. Is this true? (Wisconsin)
(They'll do it, as long as I go in earlier in the day and drop it off. Seems a bit odd to me.)
Thanks,
Amy

Apparently some states do have these rules. I would think you could find out by calling the appropriate state department. You might even be able to find the reulations online.

Generally, even where it is acceptable to bring in your own, you should bring in an unopened package of pasta.
