Allergy Testing For A 20 Month Old?

I was just wondering about something here. My dd Lily-Rose was DX'd as Celiac early in early 2006.

Her EMA was slightly elevated, but it gave the doc. enough proof that Gluten needed to be eliminated because my son was DX'd through positive biopsy.

She has had very strange poop for months now. Its yellow, sometimes greyish, really awful smelling (i'm not joking she can clear a room!!) Shes had 3 sinus infections so far this winter and has bags under her eyes all the time. She coughs only at night. Shes not gained any weight in about 3 months, and is mildly anemic.

My Ped. says that he is going to send her in for allergy tests, but I heard somewhere that diagnosing allergies in a child this young is sometimes unreliable. I was wondering of this is true, and also what allergies her symtoms could be related to????

I know she has been gluten-free because I keep everything in separate cuboards, use our own toaster etc. etc etc..

I'm just worried about this because we can't even get in too see the allergist for a few weeks!! ARGH!

I do know that scratch tests are unreliable, if that is what he is sending her for.

      Im still not gaining weight I’m on a gluten free diet . And still having issues with constapation started priobiocs figured it would help been over two weeks . I guess it’s going to be a long road for me .

      Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
